looking for some help

I might be in real wrong place but have been looking for a week to find wireing diagram and how to check charging system on a 582. s/n 2050582u708407. an elderly friend has this unit and if he's a hundred feet from garage and unit dies ,it won't start and he's lucky to get to house. just want to help him before summer mowing season. Any help just pointing me in right place would be appreciated. pm me if possible please. dinkytoy47@gmail.com
