Adjusting a Walbro on a 127
I have searched through my service and owners manuals as well as the archives on this site, plus an hour of posts and still can't find any adjustment proceedure fo the Walbro carb on my 127. Can anyone help? Thanks

You only have one adjustment on a Walbro, the low speed adjustment screw on the side.. To smooth out your idle.

Does you Walbro have a 52 or a 64 stamped inside above the choke plate? How many adjustment screws are on it? The older Walbro 52 had an idle adj screw, a main jet adj screw and a throttle stop adj screw. The later ones did away with the main jet adj. The adj can be found in the tech library section. The procedure is in the Kohler manual. David Kirk at Kirk Engines has played with the Walbro carb a bunch in the past and has some good info on these carbs. Seems around here nobody likes them very much. I say take what ya got and make it better.:biggrin2:

Kohler
I went to kohler website and downloaded the k301 user manual. It has the adjustments in there. My walbro has the low and high idle screws just like the #26 does and it ran fine with it.

throw it away and get a carter carb.[kohler]

walbro on 127
Thanks all for responding JaysNJ,thank you especially. I have the 127 owner and service manuals, but not the 301 owners.
There on p.12 is a drawing of the 3 screw walbro i have. Good thing for the diagram because I wouldn't have guessed that the screw on top was the low idle. My 149 w/kohler carb is opposite as most of you know. No, I'm not going to scrap it and get a kohler carb.............yet. haha Back to the barn Thanks Tt |
