Rob, Do this....drill and tap a 1/4" hole near enough to the adjuster handle so that a 1/4" bolt threaded into o=it will catch the handle should it try to back off. Add a jam nut so you don't loose the bolt.
If you need to re adjust, just back off the jam nut, unscrew the bolt and adjust.
