Love my 982, can't beat that Onan sound.

Its OLD--it will probably need a bit of work.
Collectors like them so the price is inflated most of the time.
Onan engine parts can be a little hard to find and are not cheap.
No power steering and the manual steering is NOT the same as other Cadets--I think there are actually 2 variations of the steering box on the 982.
I have never had the frame of the tractor damaged by those 60" Habans--but the hangers/mule drives take a beating. Expect to have to weld up worn areas.
There are about 3 variations of those decks, basically the same. If your deck is original to the machine it probably does not have front gauge wheels. I have a 982 without them and a 2072 with them.
