A little puttering in the shop this afternoon to have an excuse to stay out of the humidity.
This one is moving back together a handful of pieces at a time. The good news is I am in no particular hurry to finish it, cause then would just have to tear another one apart (will either be the 149 or the 1811/2, will decide which when the time comes) Some drive shaft parts. Foot rest plates. The dash tower painted and back in place. next is the hydro lever and putting the steering column back in. Or maybe I will spring for new tars and do the rims. Would look better sitting there without those rusty rims. |

steering column (just putting it in this thread for continuity). I should create a new thread with the project from beginning to end.
Of course, I should do a lot of things... |

My 782 could use some of that meticulous upgrading, but, it is going to just have to "suck it up", and keep on working.
Love, what you're doing to that one!

Ya. Purdy. Doesnt mean it runs any better. And not all that creative, compared to all the functional and useful home made stuff you guys make.
But dont worry, was doing some cleanup on the lot using the 1811 earlier. I have a couple others I use as workers (at least until this one is done). But Im having fun. |

Had never tried this paint before. Its a hammered silver base with a transparent on top.
Before curing it looked yellow. But cured out green. aiyai yai, the wrong color green even. Oh well, its shiney and Im bolting it in there. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
