Glad to hear you at least have some correct paint. EricR and I are refurbishing my 451 snowblower and cannot perfectly match the paint and have to use the new Majic school bus yellow. It is close to the newer yellow but a bit brighter than the valspar fed yellow. I kidded Eric saying it is so bright I will have to wear sunglasses to blow snow this winter. We will have some pics of the finished product. We also painted the footrests on my 2084 because of a rusting issue. Apparently other folks are using that paint too as our local tractor supply is out of that yellow right now. Oh well at least the snow blower is no longer rusty. My neighbor, an auto mechanic and automobile restorer in his spare time says that apparently the valspar paint has something in it that the government does not like and made them take it off the market.

Thursday, I picked up a quietline upper grill casting and IH emblem from Conner (mrcubcadet). That way, I can make the headlight area look like a 66 series with the emblem between the headlights. I've got it all drawn up and ready to start building.
I also got a set of hydro relief valves from him to rebuild and swap mine out since I'm sure they are probably leakers.

Pulled the tins off of the K301 and getting it ready for paint. Sprayed some hi-temp black on the fins. The rest of it will be red.

I've almost got the headlight area done. Need to mount the lights and fit and attach the frame piece and IH emblem.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
