Thanks for all the compliments. I'm glad it's finally done so I can quit stressing over it. Now that it's done hopefully I can start tinkering with the 784.

That 100 is just beautiful!!!
Now, about that grille.... However. You have made that used, intact, rusty grille screen (and mounting bars) look fantastic! I hold no grudge. Just excellent work, Sir!!

I will say that I've never had a cub with round fenders and this thing is a gigantic PITA to get on and off without scratching the paint, I plan to add some clear rocker guard to the front of the fenders to help protect them.

Tim, That is one of the nicest restores of a 100 that I have ever seen. The 70/100's are one of my favorite as my first cub was a model 70 with a 42 inch deck. I installed a k241 and mowed with it for years. Like a dummy I sold it to my brother and he still uses it to mow ditches with a sickle bar mower.
I am really looking forward to seeing the look on your grandfathers face when he first sees it. Are you going to do a video of him driving it? I bet he would really enjoy it. It is great that you can still enjoy your grand father, mine passed when I was three years old. Again fantastic job. Tom |

Looking good Tim, Do they sell the rocker guard in napa? I was thinking about using it around the edges of the side panels on the 1512.

I talked to my grandfather a couple weeks ago and asked him when he got the 100, he told me he got it when they moved into the old house so it was probably around 1988. The cool part was that he got the tractor from my dad, where he got it is unknown but I thought it was cool to find out that my dad once owned this cub even if it was for a brief time. Hopefully one of my son's will grow up to appreciate this tractor and want to continue to keep it in the family.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
