Default K301 VS K321 Blocks.

Does anybody know if the K301 block is physically the same as the K321 in the piston bore casting area? The stroke is the same, just the bore is .115" bigger. I guess the question is, can a K301 block be bored out to 3.50" from the K301 bore of 3.385".

I can get a package deal on two blocks, two heads, crank, cam shaft, governor and oil pans for $200 Plus a few bits and pieces. But they're all for a K301.

I believe the block walls are thinner on the k301 as compared to the 321.

Thanks for that. I thought there must be a reason people weren't snapping up worn out K301 blocks and boring them to standard K321's

THINKING:
Do some digging on here and the 'net, as in the back of my forgetful brain there is something about some blocks that have enough meat to go bigger.
it might be the little 7-8 horse engines, also it seems some were non marked 301 blocks. maybe I read it on a puller forum somewhere.
but it does exist, I just can't bring up full recall for a definite answer.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
