Dang I thought it would be harder to see. But you are correct. That O is done, I refuse to do anything but use it. And that will be very little. Mow the front yard so all the neighbors can stop and talk about it. That's how I ended up with another one I haven't shown anyone yet. Have it apart and will be done as soon as I can paint.

I have to say that is one fine looking Original. The first Cub Cadet I ever drove was an Original back in 1962 at our local IH dealer. I volunteered to mow his grass just so I could drive it. I tried to talk dad into buying one but he waited until the 71's came out to buy his first Cub. One of these days I will find one to restore.

I like my low profile Head Lights. It doesn't look like a big bug coming at you. Only bad thing about that picture is you can't see the creeper handle.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
