Made some pretty good progress tonight, the dash is mostly done and the seat is ready for primer, next time someone offers to sell me a seat for $10 I know to just say no. As you can see in the pics it was in horrible shape and after alot of welding and grinding I had it looking good enough for mud, seems like a whole lot of trouble just to cover it with a seat cover.

You know for a fact if you took a short cut it would crack again and you'd get to do it all over again.

You do very nice work.

Nice work Tim!

Wish I could go through them so fast. Seems like I only get a day here and there to play with my toys. Too many other things to do.

I really like where you put the gauges!!

Member cadzag72 was nice enough to send me the spring assist rod to copy, I was far to busy so I pawned the job off on my uncle who's a bit of an amateur blacksmith, I think they turned out great. Thanks to everybody else that supplied pics or offered to mail me the rod, willingness to help others is what make this forum great.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
