Default Mechanical PTO removal

So I need some help on how to remove my PTO, I removed all of the set screws and try to pull it off but it would come off. I tried to pry it some but I broke the little button thing in the middle off. IMG_20240229_174933991.jpg

I know two throw out arms are gone but I figured somebody could still tell me what to do.

Hang on young man someone will be along and help.
If you are talking about the 3 set screws, do know there 6 of them, as they put 2 in each hole.

If you got all 6 set screws out as George said 2 per hole it is ready to come off. Sometimes it takes some wiggling and persuasion to do so. I use a long pc of brass round bar or something hard like a hammer handle and tap it towards the front of the tractor by putting 1 end of the driver in the pto pulley grove and rotate it as I tap on it, just the fit on the brg or the clutch disc fit in the basket pulley holding it at that point

Soak it down good w/some penetrant down the 3 set screw holes.
Like George said, there are 2 set screws in each hole.
The 1st ones are just that, set/jam screws to prevent the cone point screws that are under them from coming loose.

The cone point screws lock the the PTO on behind the bearing witch itself is locked onto the crankshaft by an eccentric collar.

DO NOT pry on the basket pulley that runs the starter generator!
There should be no reason to remove that.

Was the PTO broke when you got the tractor?
I assume that is why you are taking it apart?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
