Default 1812 deck rework

Well I’ve noticed while mowing the blades sound like a prop plane flying in a hurricane and last couple time I’ve mowed the grass was chewed up and not cut even. Took off the deck and noticed play in the bearings I’ve removed the spindles and took the oil seals off(what was left of them and removed the bearings. All the seals were shot at least on one side so went ahead and knocked all of em out and took out the bearings. Surprisingly they all look great. They’re timkin brand made in the USA. I went to the Cub dealership and bought 2 bearings and 2 seals before I took them apart (35$) made in China junk. So I don’t need bearings but when I do where is a good place to get these good bearings at? While I’ve got it apart I’m stripping the deck and going to primer and paint. Everything looks really good except the seals. Just proof that this is a good American Made Product built to last. And I don’t want any Chinese made bulls¥€£{ on it. Thanks! I’ll

If you were able to make out Timkin stamped into the bearing you should be able to also make out the br number stamped in it.. Call local auto parts store and see if they stock it or go online.. Can you read the number?

I'm not certain what an 1812 is, but I rebuilt the 50C deck (more important to know this than what lawnmower you are running it under) on my 1811 last year. I called Oreileys auto and ordered all my parts. Seals and bearings were around $7 each and both were name brand. They crossed over one of the items by the brand and number on it, the other they crossed over by using the Cadet part number. I called at 8:30 one night and they had the parts for me when I got off work the next day. Bearings and seals come from all over the world, I think it is way more important that they are made by a reputable company (National, Timken etc.) By the way I left in my inner races. A year later its standing handling whatever abuse I give it--this mower goes places I refuse to take the others.

Ok thanks guyS. The ones on eBay are cheaper than those Chinese pos at the dealership. Don’t get me wrong I’m glad to have the dealership. They’re a little pricey but I buy my Stihl saws, weed eaters, blowers etc...... there and when I can’t fix it it goes to them. They’ve always done an outstanding job both customer service and quality work. make it here spend it here!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
