bought a 1/2" IR impact
You guys like tractors and tools so you might be interested in this sale. I haven't used this yet but I'll report back. Seems like a pretty good price. Years ago when I got my first compressor I bought a cheap 1/2 impact gun but when you have a real tractor I guess you need real tools.

Snow detail
Cleared my drive and a good deal of my yard of 7+ inches of the white stuff. I had so much fun with the 1872 and 54" power angle blade that it was hard to stop. I have a 54" RAD 2 stage blower/thrower outfitted for an 1872 but it would have been all over tooo quickly plus it wasn't mounted on a tractor - maybe next time.

The box rebuild and new steering joints got almost all the slop out of the 1641 steering. I've been using it to pull a cart the last few weeks and there is a tight place with the wheel 90 degrees from from center on both sides. I didn't know what I was doing when took the box out, I took the bottom part of the upper CV joint part and didn't make an index mark. When I was putting everything back together I had a hard time moving the CV joint around to line it up with the box. When I got the upper shaft and joint out yesterday I found it was tight at one place, when I loosened the bolts it freed up. I plan on taking it apart today and see if I can get it working right. Hopefully I won't mess anything up in the process.

As a last resort I checked the service manual section on the upper steering and today got it back together and in the 1641. I drove it around and the tight place is gone. The steering joints I used have some of the grease fittings aimed toward the frame so I ordered this. https://www.amazon.com/Lincoln-Lubri...grease+coupler It's a little aggravating to use but it does work.
