Topped of the 1811's tank (or at least half way) and turned in around in preparation for the snow.

Had a very unexpected set of snow squalls come thru. Total white out when looking out my window. In no time at all we had a small 2" on the ground. With the strange snowy week ahead I figured I'd do this little cleanup.
I was just using Tug to assist with a bush trimming job so it fired up easy and we zipped thru it. Who Knew from trimming a bush to plowing snow within an hour. |
Plug aerated about 10 acres of pasture/ hay field with my 108!

The battery in the 1863 died 2 years ago and I haven't used it since then. I went and bought a cheapo L&G battery at Walmart and used 2 vice grips to attach the cables to it. The gas had been in it for 2 years so I removed the gas line from the plastic fuel pump and managed to break the plastic barb off of it. I had another new fuel pump so I installed it. The line going from the pump to the carb was so old it crumbled getting it off so I removed the air filter and housing and replaced the line. I hooked a bottle of gas to the fuel pump and got it cranked and drove it to the garage. The throttle cable is froze up, I removed it and put it in a coffee can of oil. If it doesn't free up I have the stuff to make another one. I need to make some battery cables that will work on the L&G battery and change the oil. Letting this thing set in an open carport for 2 years has not been good for it.

Got the 122 uncovered and it didn't start. As is true 98% of the time, it was a fuel issue.
Drained the gas, loosened the tank and removed the valve/fuel filter and cleaned it all out and we're back in business again. I need to find a way of extending the fuel inlet of the assembly so that it doesnt pull fuel from the bottom of the tank as it does now, but instead from about 1/2" from the bottom of the tank. Ran like a champ! |

Took the 1512 diesel out and gave it a go, Had to jump it as the 4 year old battery is no longer able to start it.

I did some spring maintenance on the driveway yesterday. I tried out the blade I got a couple weeks ago for my Cub. I had mounted it on the front at first, but changed it over to mid mount. It works great. I really like that you can tilt it to dig in on one side. I was able to crown the driveway so hopefully water runs down the sides instead of the middle now. My dad helped me with the 882. I finished up with the 125 and rake. It started right up after sitting all winter. I didn’t even have to charge the battery.

After 2 days in oil the throttle cable was still locked up. I dug out some cable material I bought several years ago from Tulsa Engine Warehouse before they went out of business. I've got it on the tractor but not adjusted. The old CV singles have a hole you line up but I don't see anything like that on this one. Guess it's time to dig through the Kohler manual.
