I replaced the carb on the 1650 with a new one today. When I got it there was a broken screw that holds the air cleaner base on and the PO gave me a replacement carb to replace the carb. So I finally got around to it today. He'll be here in the morning with a load of stuff from our latest trade. Hard telling what all is going to be in the boxes! I'm ready to replace the ISO mounts with some new CC mounts that is part of the trade. Once I get the ISO mounts replaced it'll be time to ge the 1650 ready for the tiller as it's patato planting time!:Woo: I'll get some pics up tomorrow.

MrGitrdone41 03-01-2012 09:37 PM

I pulled the heads on the 1812 to put new head gaskets in it and redid the heads. Did some wiring work on my 128 and ordered my rebuild kit. I can't wait to sink the plow in the ground this year!

Sam you got some pretty sweet deals!

cavmedic 03-04-2012 07:57 PM

Swapper rear wheels , and weights from my WH to the Cub , Tightened up the jam nuts on my steering box ( that were about to fall off), now steering is less sloppy. Pulled the front wheels , gonna run them down to local shop tomorrow and get new sneakers and wheel bearings and maybe get them filled with fluid also. Ordered rear gasket , hydro fan , shaft coupler bushing thingers , new filter. Put in an order for Bosch blue coil , new plug wire and PointSlayer Photo-Transistor Breakerless Ignition System from http://www.kirkengines.com/index.php...IgnitionSystem ....

Went and picked up a good deck for my 100. Found it on Craigslist along with some other parts(driveshaft/clutch, clutch shield, hitch plate, snowblade bracket.). paid 20 for the deck and 60 for everything else. Think I did pretty good.:biggrin2:

Diz Jr. 03-04-2012 09:15 PM

Sounds like a good deal mharrison

ACecil 03-04-2012 10:42 PM

Today i put my 3pt hitch, suitcase weights and bracket on the 108, hooked up the box blade and did some driveway leveling! Ill need a spring assist if i keep using this thing, but had a great time working the cub anyway.

Stopped at the local metal shop today and picked up my parts. I got a top link for my back blade made and a new top for my cap project made. The best part was that he only charged 20 bucks!!! So then tonight I worked on fitting the cap on the 108. The front is mounted and the top is ready. I just need to trim som on the back and find a way to mount it wihout drilling the fenders. So here's what I came up with today

Methos 03-06-2012 02:12 AM

Looks great Nick!

ACecil 03-06-2012 11:21 AM

Thanks for the nice pics, guys!

Did quite a bit on the O today, tightened the drive belt, while I was under it I noticed the steering box was loose. So out comes the battery and steering wheel, and the dash tower. Since I had it that far I wondered how old that grease is:bigthink: so out with the steering box! Well it was 50 year old grease:biggrin2: but the box, follower pin, and bearings are perfect! Just needed is a good cleaning and new grease:beerchug: No slop in the steering now! Also figured out my carb leak, the bowl had a tiny pin hole in it, replaced it. Then I took the shifter cover off to check it out, clean oil and zero rust or water in it. It was a good day:beer2:

MrGitrdone41 03-06-2012 08:03 PM

I got my rebuild kit in yesterday in the mail. I started to rebuild the motor out of my 128. I got alot of it done but i don't have a valve spring compressere so i can't put in the valve yet. I can't wait to fire it up for the first time!:beer2: Than a plow day with my friend!!:biggrin2:

_DX3_ 03-06-2012 08:24 PM

I use a spring compressor that you can find at any auto parts store. It is designed to compress those door springs that was used in those 80's vehicles. Think they might run about $10.

My grandpa said that when he had to compress a valve spring without a tool, he put a couple pieces of wire through it, then compressed the spring in a vice. When it was compressed, he would tie the wires so that they held the spring closed. Install spring, clip wires, pull out wires, done. I call it the poor mans' way.

Cheers :beerchug:

Expecting another inch or so of rain in about an hour, so I thought I would go ahead and get the tomato garden plowed, so it can be settling in for a couple of weeks then I can disc it. The ground was a bit wet, but the ole BRS pulled without a problem, even when the plow encountered a few tree roots.

Well that is a part of the front yard, LOL. I still have to find a spot for the gourds and watermelon. :biggrin2: I have to find a good milk cow to support my gravy for tomatoes and breakfast. LOL

That is the first time that dirt has been turned. It should be a good spot for growing this year.

Unfortunately, that's my dad's truck. The cub hauling van is at the dealership getting resuscitated. Had a few coolant leaks we could not find. It's ready to be picked up in the morning. Going from a Hemi to a V6 is a big shock, LOL. Sad part is, the MPG aren't much better on the V6, LOL.
