ACecil, nice ride man! Those are some big looking leaves and the sweeper looks like it's doing a bang-up job!
Is that a new shadow on your chin? :bigthink:Or did your razor break? :bigthink::buttrock:LOL That looks good too!! ::Woo::IH Trusted Hand: |
Thanks Roblynn! The razor's fine...LOL. I always grow a beard for the Winter. Keeps my face warm. :biggrin2.gif:
|
Great pics ACecil! I have a sweeper too, but seldom use it. It seems to fill up so quickly with all of our maple trees. Feels like I spend more time emptying it than filling it :biggrin2.gif:
Fine job! Jeff (teet) |
Thanks Jeff! I'm pretty lucky, we only have the Sycamore tree. Cleanup isn't that bad for me. :beerchug:

Tri-ribs mounted No pictures.
I mounted my new tri-ribs and put them on my #1 100. I really like the way they look and the profile of the tractor with the narrower tires. Also a set of spindles arrived today for my #2 100. I only needed the left one but what ya gonna do? It felt good to do some work with them. I didn't take any pictures because I just uncovered the front end and installed them. I wasn't up to covering the tractor after letting it cool down from a short spin. But I'm sure I'll get some posted one of these days. The city finally put in my new sidewalks. So pushing snow on that 200 ft. should be gravy. Just watching the leaves fall, listening to the occasional crow or blue jay and rebuilding and painting the Cubs in my mind.

RPalmer,
Glad to hear you got your tires on, Did they give you much of a fight? |
Nice work RPalmer! I'd love to get a pair of the tri ribs for my 73. How do you think it will handle in the snow? I also like the newer 16 x6.50 size tri ribs, but not sure they would look right on my 1211.
Definitely be nice to see a pic of yours when you get a chance! :beerchug: Jeff (teet) |
That's great, RPalmer! You'll love how your cub steers with them. :beerchug:

Little tires always seem harder to deal with. |
Got my 782 ready for the snow today. Picked up the new belt and new pulley to make the 451 work on my 782. Fired it up and everything seemed to work great. The ultimate test will be when PennDOT fills the end of my driveway with a 2 foot snowbank. I just have to find or fabricate some wheel weights and I should be all set.

Looks like you are ready for it medic75

Have fun in the snow, medic75. And get some action pics, over the Winter. :beerchug:
|
Great job, Bill! :beerchug:
I need to get in the yard, but it's raining, so no seat time today. |
No pictures
I took the 100 out to grind up and blow some leaves to the curb. The 100 never did seem to cut as well as the 104 and I just found out why. I thought it had something to do with a dent on the front right side and left it at that. Well the leaves started to pile up around the deck and I found myself watching the deck and raising it when it was needed. That's when I saw the drive belt on the deck bouncing w a y too much. I must have moved the pulley at least a half an inch to tighten it up. So if I get another chance to try and wrangle the leaves I'll get to see how much of an improvement it made. I felt pretty stupid never looking farther than the bend on the deck.

My wife had me hauling some boxes today. She snapped a few pics, for my buddies!

The 70 haul 2 IH Cub Cadets rear ends up to the shop today.
http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s.../rearend01.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s.../rearend02.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s.../rearend03.jpg One of the rear ends is from a 100 and the other one is from a 72, 104 or a 124. The 100 rear end is for a future 100 that I want to build. My Son notice the rear end in his 86 was hurt some when he did some upgrades before Ohio Plow Day this fall. The plan is to make it more bullet proof so it can handle the power that the 86 makes. When my Son is done with school (3rd year engineering student) he wants to pull a puller. The plan is to disassemble the 72, 104 or a 124 and do the needed upgrades to it. We have local puller that gave us several suggestions plus a few different internet sites that we can get infomation from. Hopefully I will hear a few good suggestions on this site. Should be an interresting topic. |

Thanks!!
Yep,the snowblower is in the shed, but I sold the tractor it was going on:Sad:...just have to put on the chains(always wait until the last minute)..I made a promise to my self that when I quit driving semi's, I wouldn't smell diesel smoke again, but I guess I'll have to bite my tongue...

good looking tractor Hawg.:beerchug:

It ain't a special grease
This is embarrassing. So you old timers get a chuckle and the folks new to Cubs will be able to get it right.
I went to my "go-to" electrical guys to check on some mag parts for my O. While I'm there I figure these are the guys to ask about that special grease in the starter/generator. You know the stuff looks and feels like soft bees wax. Well that soft bees wax it what the grease looks like after years and years of heating cooling. The special grease I need is wheel bearing grease. Dahhhh. I also put new Autolite 216 spark plugs in three Cubs and checked their point settings. Only one of three need an adjust. Have fun Cubbing. |
:HeeHee:Gee Hawg....what you go and do that for - selling off part of your snow crew??
So what you going to do, just swap them back and forth, depending on if you need the blower or the blade that day? You think you will have enough weight on the back end of that smoker once you have to tear into a big *&$ drift in February? Might have to hire a couple of tubby video game playing kids from down the street to sit on the back to add weight. IF you can't find any, I could send mine out to help ya out - only catch is you would have to feed him. Hmmmm....maybe that isn't such a great deal for you?:biggrin2.gif: |
:beerchug::WWP:Can't wait to see your son's beefed up tractor when the two of you are done fixing it up!

Got some seat time in today. Hauled my wife's Halloween decorations to her shed. Have some sweeping to do, this weekend! :beerchug:

put the snowblade from 169 on my 129 to play with. suprised how easy it is to lift. just pushed a little dirt with it
|
Went out to fire up the ole 127 that has been sitting out back since last spring, and the old girl refused to fire up.
Put in a fresh 1/2 gallon of gas in the tank, made sure gas was going to the carb. Checked and had good spark at the plug. Removed the drive pin from the driveshaft coupler so the motor would spin over faster. Removed aircleaner assembly so to use my hand to block off air intake for full choke. After spinning the motor over a few times I noticed there was no gas going through the carb. Guess it was a bad idea to let this ole girl sit so long with out any attention. Took off the carb bowl and found the needle valve stuck, freeded it up and the gas started flowing once again. Put carb back together and fired up the motor only to have it run at full choke only. Pulled the main needle jet out and it was full of junk, cleaned it up, reinstalled and try again. The ole 127 fired right up and ran fine for a few minutes and only hickuped a couple of times. Decided to take it for a short spin around the farm, by the time I git bak to the house all was good. Than I decided to park it in the barn for winter storage, better than sitting outside in the weather all winter. Winter plan for the 127 is to install a clutch in the driveline so it will start easyer in the cold months. Heres a question on this plan, Will a clutch and drive shaft from a 102 work in a 127? |
ihnick,
129 Looks good with the front blade  lonnyb, Glad to hear you got fire back in the ole 127 :biggrin2.gif: |

I REALLY NEED A BLADE:bash2: |

Providing I've measured the right drive shafts, your 127 shaft should be 17" from the front end to the back of the "T" that bolts to the rag joint (there is also a "tip" on the back end of the shaft that goes into the flange behind the rag joint). A 102 drive shaft is 18 3/16" from one end to the other. In order to use a clutch in your hydro you have to replace the drive flange on your 127 with a 3 pin driver from a gear drive. The back end of the shafts are also different, the gear drive has a tubular coupler and the hydro has a rag joint (ther rag joint is reduce the stress on the hydro input shaft and spiral pinl, from people slamming from forward to reverse...). I'm thinking that you need to use a hydro drive shaft, with a 3 pin driver and clutch set-up installed on it. Basically all that would need to be done to the shaft is to have spiral pin holes drilled in the appropriate places and then put the clutch set-up on the shaft and bolt the clutch release arm and bracket onto the dash tower. Then hook up your linkage to the foot pedal cross shaft, you will probably need the "clutch and brake pedal arm" from a gear drive to put on your foot pedal cross shaft, so there is somewhere to attach your clutch release rod, but I think that leaves no place for your neutral return lever. You may have to fabricate an arm to go on your clutch pedal cross shaft that will "center" you forward reverse lever AND pull your clutch release rod. So to answer your question, I don't know! I can tell you that the two shafts attach differently on the back and the hydro style should be used on a hydro. |
Installed spring assist
3 Attachment(s)
I got my wide frame spring assist today. Put her on and adjusted it with the front blade. So in the battle of the coming snow, I win with lifting the blade.:biggrin2.gif:
I want to add, that compared to a narrow frame, putting this on was a pain in the ... . |
Took the 169 out to My boss's house and mowed for 4 hours today.
