Oak 03-18-2012 03:28 PM

Duke, I see yur doing a little bump drafting in the last pic.:biggrin2:

squatch 03-18-2012 08:23 PM

Been cutting some trees down and cutting them up for firewood. I had some leaners at the woods edge that had to go. I also had 1 big poplar that I was concerned that if I didn't get it down this year I wouldn't have room to drop it without hitting the house. They grow fast and often fall. I didn't want this monster hitting my house in a few years. Still solid but the work is done. The Rat Rod Super pulled a cart with wood in it off and on all week.

The poplar taken from the 2nd floor balcony. It was about 30" at the base. Dropped at an angle it came within 20' of the elevated deck. Straight it would have been close.

Getting there.

The Super at my much depleted stove wood pile.

This pile is just the Poplar. Around 2 cords. Not much good for the woodstove, but I have plenty of firewood for campfires this year! They oher trees were good firewood. Oaks, cherry, ect. Different pile.

Momma thought I did the bump and run and I got a ear full and glad I didn't get kicked in the rear! Evan loves racing when it's jsut turning dark so he can run with the lights on. Makes it hard for pics tho!:bash2:

Methos 03-19-2012 12:31 AM

Squatch my dad used to sell fire wood for years every time we got into a poplar we split it and it was fine to burn with. They are so wet they will rot from the inside out.:bash2:

Awesome pics too!

Methos 03-19-2012 12:41 AM

I plowed some gardens in the hood today. I didn't take one pic of me plowing as my wonderful wife was going to take some for me but she didn't.:bash2:

I did get to doing the decals on my box blade and I took some pics! Here's a teaser pic!

I'll update the box blade pic with more pics as well.

Diz Jr. 03-19-2012 06:47 AM

The box blade looks good with the new decal Methos :beerchug:

Thanks, Yeah it will burn fine when it's seasoned. Just burns up so fast it's like throwing balsa wood in the stove.

That means I can do it again when I wear them off!:biggrin2:

Bad news on the International decal, I can't get the paper off the top of the letters and the I and A don't want to stick.:bash2: I've got a IH number for the decal so going to try and track one down or call and have one made local.

I also mowed some grass yesterday. Its so much better mowing with a real Cub Cadet.

ACecil 03-20-2012 11:20 AM

Thanks for the pics, guys! It's time to mow here, as well.

Thanks! Becareful my son claims all of the tractors as his. He'll let me keep the gear drives but I don't have any gear drives! The little stinker rock paper scissored me out of my FEL!:bash2:

You got that right!

I changed the oil, filter on the BRS and sharpened up the 50C deck blades and mowed for the first time yesterday. It was a good day. :beerchug:

MrGitrdone41 03-21-2012 08:38 PM

I also cut grass for the first time today. I wish the 128 was working or would have used it but i used the 1812 it does a great job with the 46GT deck.

ACecil 03-21-2012 10:25 PM

The smoker is looking good, Conner!

Methos 03-21-2012 11:47 PM

Conner and DWayne glad you two got some time on the smokers even if it was maint. time.:biggrin2:

I was able to get the tiller on the 1650 tonight and was able to break up the clumps in the gardens. I'll need to come back over them to get them more fine but this was good pratice run for the 1650. The 1650 was a dream to till with and I was able to get a couple pics to share with you all.

My garden

Thanks DWayne! I'll end up going over the gardens again. Have fun using the disc set before the rain comes again.:beerchug:

Doug the muffler looks good! :beerchug:

_DX3_ 03-22-2012 02:53 PM

Well I did hook up the disc this morning and got some plowing done, but it was ugly. Still way too wet. I've got to build some rear disc scrapers eventually to keep the wet packed dirt from building up. I had better luck working on my nephew's 73 hood today. :beerchug:

I could see that being useful! Maybe you'll get a dry patch in here soon so you can get back to playing. The hood looks goot too!

ACecil 03-22-2012 04:26 PM

The muffler looks good, Doug!

squatch 03-22-2012 10:41 PM

I'm liking that new stack!

I removed the 4 corner bolts in the cab of my 1872 and replaced them with 1/4" eye bolts. Now instead using ratchet straps through the doors with my engine hoist. I can make a cross of light chain and lift it on and off of the tractor with the engine hoist. Should be a lot less hassle. Going to have to remove it soon as I'll probably have to mow next week for the 1st time.
http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...BB013Small.jpg

http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...BB014Small.jpg

The eye bolts will be left in place.

Methos 03-22-2012 10:42 PM

Very sweet! Way to use the old hat rack!:beerchug:
