CBH 11-06-2009 08:54 PM

Hey Diz, was it uncomfortable mowing with that mail box post sticking out of the seat? :biggrin2.gif:

RPalmer 11-06-2009 08:59 PM

Diz Jr., Man what a view. For me, stuck in the city, that's just picture post card pertty.

ihnick 11-06-2009 09:16 PM

hope the 169 mowed good since it was your bosses place. :biggrin2.gif:

Diz Jr. 11-06-2009 10:25 PM

Good one CBH, i hadn't noticed that, I was just parked real close to the mail box :biggrin2.gif:

RPalmer, It really is scenic out there. Its fun to go there and turn the Cub loose.

ihnick, It mowed really nice. My boss (Wade) hates to mow. So he's not to particular, as long as he doesnt have to mow it he's happy :biggrin2.gif:

The one I put on the 104 was my first. I stuck the spring in from the rear then went to the rock shaft and attached the rod to the spring and clamped it.

The wide frame was my first and after trying to do it the same way I had to put in the spring then attach that to the rear bracket to hold that part in place then remove it and attach the rod without the front bracket. Then I sorta hoped the rear would stay in place and between switching sides several times and standing on my head just to see what I need to do without looking got it on. There is no love loss between me and my 129. And I thought this was just another good example about how they require much more time to work on. Not that I'm on the clock or in a hurry. But after having the narrow spring assist basically slide into place this just added fuel to my fire. And WHY did IH do away with the cool old school hood latches like on my 104? I had to put the latches on the 129. I see why someone would pitch them. - Peace -

TEET 11-06-2009 10:43 PM

Great pics Diz! You should of pulled that old tree stump out while you were there. :biggrin2.gif: :ROTF1:

Diz: You have sure had a lot of fun with your 169 since you bought it :beerchug:

Yes I find my 100 and NF a joy to work on. The WF.... the only good part with that is being done.:biggrin2.gif: If I had 3 or 4 hands I might even like driving the 129.

Both hands AND both feet, are busy pretty much all the time, and at the same time :beerchug:

My mind has become too simple for that.

Diz Jr. 11-06-2009 10:55 PM

Hey Wild Bill,
Yea its been a great tractor. I wanted to take it out there this time because the grass was pretty thick in places. I wanted to see how it pulled through the deep stuff. Its amazing the difference 2 H.P. makes. The 149 does great but this 169 will really hog through the grass.

TEET,
If i would have had my wheel weights on i would have tried it. :ExtremeFunny:

ACecil 11-06-2009 11:41 PM

Great job, RPalmer! :beerchug:

Nice pics Diz, I always enjoy them!

I got the 73 out today to let my 9 year old take it for a spin around the yard. He did pretty well considering its his first try on a gear drive tractor. He's been doing really well with the 127, I figured he was ready to tackle the 73. I forgot how quick it is in 3rd gear :biggrin2.gif: He pretty much stayed in 2nd the whole time.....Sorry the vid quality is poor...crappy old Kodak camera.

What I did with my cub cadets today was take pictures of them all lined up. From left to right is my 982, my 682 and my 582.

Diz Jr. 11-07-2009 08:03 PM

TEET,
Cool video. Your 73 looks good and sounds good to
Looks like your 9 year old has it figured out :biggrin2.gif:

ajgross,
Thats a beautiful line up :IH Logo:

jfinney 11-07-2009 08:41 PM

Loaded the 6-12 ags in my 73 today...what a pain in the butt!!! Bought one of those adaptors with bleeder valve at TSC and tried filling it with a funnel...was taking WAY too long. Then I bought one of those supposedly self-priming drill pumps...it was useless. Spent way more time trying to get the pump to work than I ought to have. After I cleaned up the mess all over the floor it was about 2.5 hours to fill the tires. Not nearly as quick as I would have hoped. The good thing is that they're loaded now. Added about 30 lbs per tire. Once the snow plow is mounted, let the snow start flying!!! Oh yeah, then I took my lawn sweeper out and picked up a ton of leaves with the 73. Jason

RPalmer 11-07-2009 09:09 PM

TEET,

Looks like YOU doing yard work might soon be a thing of the past. Great stuff.

ajgross,

Nice family shot. You could be found guilty of creating envy.:biggrin2.gif:

Diz Jr. 11-07-2009 09:37 PM

jfinney,
Sorry to here your drill pump didnt work out :bash2: Mine worked great right out of the package.

jfinney 11-07-2009 09:43 PM

Diz Jr, where'd you get your pump? I'm assuming you drew from a bucket or something and then just pressed the breeder valve on the adaptor periodically? How long did it take you to fill your tires? Jason

Diz Jr. 11-07-2009 10:02 PM

I bought mine at local hardware store (do it center)

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...filling001.jpg

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...filling004.jpg

Took about 1/2 hour each tire.
Just run the drill hard as it would go. Keep filling the bucket. Stop every once and a while and let the air out. As it gets fuller you have to stop more often. (Not as much air space left)

ACecil 11-07-2009 10:13 PM

Nice vid and pics, Jeff!

Great pics of your cubs, AJ!

ACecil 11-07-2009 10:20 PM

Nice 1811, Bob!

Thanks for the nice comments, guys! :beerchug:

RPalmer: We don't get much snow here, so there's none for the 100, to play in. :biggrin2.gif:

Diz Jr. 11-08-2009 07:57 PM

I got it with the classic goveror takes out the cam problem ,got it squared away and used it all summer .I plan to use it to blow snow this winter, others including Matt say it should work pretty well.
Thanks Again, Bob

Stitch 11-09-2009 02:01 AM

I put my cub to work for the first time tonight, hauling the leftovers from this guy into the pasture for the coyotes. Sorry I didn't get any pics of the tractor at work, it was late.

ihnick 11-09-2009 10:32 AM

ACecil 11-09-2009 12:19 PM

That's right, Nick. Our cubs can do lots of things, around the house. I always try to find uses for the 100. :beerchug:

ihnick 11-09-2009 01:45 PM

Stitch 11-09-2009 10:23 PM

Diz Jr. 11-12-2009 07:49 AM

Did you order the parts new, or is that a collection of used parts? I need to set up my 782 with a sleeve hitch.

THanks.
