The new coil worked great. The 1711 fired right up this morning with no issues, even sounds a lot smoother. I'll have to get with Todd and get that fuel pump number. I need to get it changed. :beerchug:

Put a voltage regulator on the 129 that I was going to part out. It didn't have one when I got it. Charges good. Removed the nail that the PO had put in the drive shaft coupling and put a roll pin in. Took the exhaust elbow out of the head. Gotta get a muffler, just a little load LOL. Adjusted the Walbro a bit. I need the tin work for the head, a points cover and a complete air filter for the engine and a fan for the trans if any of you guys have this stuff shoot me a PM. Duke I'll get you some pics tomorrow of this AWESOME MOWSHENE. :beerchug:

Good work Sam!

Pics of the 129 as promissed. Gave the old girl a bath and tuned on it a bit. Runs like a real one now. Glad I didn't part it out. It should make someone a nice tractor.:biggrin2: |

got some seat time today. I got the belts needed to use the #1 on the 582.
got to use the new creeper too. :beerchug: |
Put the 50" deck on the 129 a little while ago and have been out killing grass with it. AWESOME MOWING MOSHENE! Gotta agree with Matt about the PTO SMOOTH. I'm so used to the elec clutch's that I forgot how nice the old manuel PTOs engage. I'd still be out mowing but the head lights don't work....yet.:biggrin2:
Yes Duke I'll get some pics for you tomorrow.:beerchug: |
Great pics, guys!

Got to mow again with the 1711. New Coil made a huge difference. I have come to the conclusion I hate turf tires with only air in them. This thing spins the rear tires so easy...:bash2: Guess I'll have to add ags and fluid to the Christmas and Birthday list this year. :biggrin2: I am going to have to take the starter out and see if I can clean it. It stuck on me twice today. Not really a big deal, I have a long screwdriver I can use to get the bendix gear back into place, but it is just a PITA to have to do it. I am keeping my fingers crossed it is a starter with a nut on the end of the gear instead of one of those newer style permanent fixtures.

http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=18071 It might help!! :bigthink: |
It'll be a lot more effective if it is cleaned before it is re-lubricated.

Boys and I are heading out to the Spartinburg tractor show, hope to see some of you guys there.

Seat time
Got the 63O an oil change and then put it to work hauling hedge trimmings. That little tractor is rapidly becoming my favorite to use. It steers like power steering and it putts around the yard at about 500 RPM. I know why someone here accurately coined them the "Yard Harley".
I need to redo steering and wiring and I'm going to seriously enjoy this thing for a long time! John |
Had a little set back with the 129 today. I didn't notice that the inside of the gas tank was full of rust. From running the little bit that I have the rust is coming loose and made a mess of the filter. Looks like I'm gonna have to give it the old sheet rock screws in the tank and shake cleaning then Kreem it.

Other than breaking a few ribs , it was a pretty good weekend . Im set back about 2 days but onward thru the fog . :beerchug:
