did some cutting with my 122 and haban sickle bar. had fun with it till it sheared a keyway on the rear pulley. gonna have to get that fixed. rolled the lawn with the wheel horse, pulled the engine in the other 1959 wheel horse, and put the 127 out by the road for sale.

Killed grass with the 2282. Only thing better than a Cub is a Super cub with a 60" deck. :biggrin2:

I'm going to hate going to work tomorrow but I made good use of today. One of the activities was to get the oil changed in the 123. I've used it maybe 6 times since I got it from the PO. I think he may have had original equipment oil in it. Anyway... I made use of a plastic bottle cut away strategically to drain the oil without drooling any over the deck (or the driveway). If you leave half the bottom in, it hooks over the drain hole extrusion in the pan.
Worked great and it cost nothing and took 5 min to make. Best of all no oil on the deck or the drive. John |

I cut my nabor and my yard to day and just when i was about finished the motor started blowing out so much smoke i could not see in front of me. I think the motor needs a full rebuild.

We had some really nice and cool weather today, so I got out in the shop and finished putting the transmission back together for my nephew's 73. The reduction drive seal finally came in and I remembered everyone saying if you are that far into it, to replace the brake lining retainer O-Ring. I picked that up and got it changed out. All of the plates and new gaskets re installed and torqued down properly. Once finished with that, I heard the 1711 calling my name saying the yard needed mowing, so I had some great seat time with a nice cool breeze blowing while cutting the yard. All in all a good day. :beerchug:

Been having problems welding the crack in the front of my 2072 but I think I got it tonight. While I was there fixed 2 small cracks where the eng bolts in. This is a hard way to learn. I kept blowiing threw the frame, guess I wasnt moving fast enough. While I have the frame on its side Ill patch in where the NF lift will go. Also smoothed out the holes where the alum trannies always break. :bash2: Such a great design! Now I need to flip it back over and grind out the weld on the back and put a piece in to renforce it.

Nice work, Vince! :beerchug:

Today I got the new 129 (See thread)....Got it running, and then power washed it. Tomorrow I am going to start disassembling...and putting parts on the trailer to take to the painter next week sometime. |
Thanks guys, I just hope I didnt hurt it. On the welding forum they told me I can put too much heat in it and make it like glass and break even more. Earl aka DaDuke and i have been talking about the repair too. He told me the same thing about too much heat in the repair. So we shall see. Ill put the plate in the back this weekend and roset weld the hole and hopefully it wont crack again.

You know all joking aside, the other day when we plowed at d=Dons place my green friends got on my 1872 while I was running their 430's and the first thing that Steve said was WOW the room. And I showed him I had the seat slid all the way up. They couldnt belive the room in the tractor. Now I suffer from the same problem as Sam, but on the super it dosnt show up as much. I do like the 430 for power but it looks like it needs a nose job past the axle! :biggrin2: Ill stick with my cubs!
