I pulled the engine of my 1450.
It's going to get a rebuild, because it's too young to smoke.

Little update on Allens 1872

We found that the fuel pump had leaked gas into the block so its a good thing him and jen didnt get it to start cause it would have trashed the eng. A few wiring problems, no big deal as with any old tractor. Got it running last night eng sounds real strong, no funny noises, gov seems right on.

So today we tear it all apart, put the Ci rear in, new to Allen carb, he and the boys will be washing out the fuel system, and building the 3pt hitch while Im spliting the tractor.

Well get some pics today and try to get them posted for you guys. Oh and Sam I let Allen try out my 1872 with the bad steering, LOL he didnt like it much! Kinda had the same coment you had, somethings wrong, LOL

The contractors showed up to put the new siding on the house after the hail storm . The had an old wheel barrow to haul the old siding to the dumpster , so I got the 1872 on the job. Nedles to say the wheel barrow didn't get used much .
Then my wife and I cleaned out and put some new shelving in the tractor barn.

Today, I started tearing down a K301 that a guy from Ohio dropped off last night. It's out of a 1282, and he says it doesn't have much power.

Here's a picture of the piston...Notice the deep scoring, and the crack:

Almost got Allens tractor done. MAN WHAT A GREAT TRACTOR!!!!!!!

Got to meet Earl today and some of his kids. It was a nice break in the action for me. Allen did some carb work, we found the float had a hole in it and it was letting gas get into the crank case. Runs like a top, didnt even need the choke to start it!

Ill have to admit when it comes to running a chain fall Ill take Allen over my boys any day. When I told Allen it needed to go up or down a just a bit, it did, my kids, LOL it could go a mile!

All we have to do is set the neutral, fix the starter wire, its grounding out on the starter case, put the hitch on, and change oil one more time.

Looks good guys!

I went up to get paint for the 122 and Hytran and filter for the 1812 at theCaseIH dealer. It was cool dealership. I asked the guy if they sold cubs in 60s he said every since they started making them! I asked him if he had a dealer sticker and he gave me two for the 122! Also loaded up the 1812 and cart to take over my JD buddy's to level dirt and show them how it is done :biggrin2: Here are some PICS!!!

Well everything went togeather just fine! Just got a call from Jen said they are home and safe.

I dont remember who sold this tractor to Allen, but man what a nice tractor! I wish I had a couple like this one. We set the neutral and adjusted out the #26 carb we put on and wow dose it run strong. I wish we had time to take it for a nice long ride out back but we didnt.

Look forward to seeing Allen & Jen next weekend at the show, along with anyone else that will be there.

Again thanks to who ever it was that sold this to Allen, made our job go real smooth!

Sam Mac 06-24-2012 08:43 PM

Vince

How long do you think it will be before Allen is selling his 100 now that the Super is sorted out? :biggrin2:

Sam Mac 06-24-2012 08:55 PM

Got some seat time on the 1210 AKA “ The Yard Harley” today. Been a while since I've run it since I've been playing with the Supers. Forgot what a fun tractor it is. Love the 16HP Vanguard I put in it, quiet, smooth and tons of power. Mowed some grass that the farmer that cuts and bails some of my property couldn't get at with his big tractor, the grass was about 3' tall and it had no problem with it at all. :biggrin2:

ACecil 06-24-2012 10:29 PM

Got the super home and took it for a ride in the rain. I'll post pics tomorrow. Thanks again, Vince for a job well done! I love the super! Can't wait to take it to plow day! :beerchug:

That's great news Allen!
Can't wait to see more pics!

Big-D 06-25-2012 06:32 PM

I just finished replacing some of the components on the drive shaft on my 1772, in hopes of calming some vibration issues. Wasn't to bad of a job, and it seems to have cured the problem, but not sure for how long. Can anyone tell me how much to tighten the nut/bolt on the rubber discs? I just tightened them enough to sink the washers flush. Too much, or too less? Any responses would be appreciated.

ACecil 06-26-2012 10:43 AM

I'll be getting the super and lawn sweeper out soon to do some yard work. Pics will be later. :biggrin2:

The 100 sleeps in the house and is in family pics. I think he's owned it longer then any other tractor he's ever owned. even going back to the speedex's.

ACecil 06-26-2012 05:32 PM

Dually isn't going anywhere...lol. Sam, we'll see how the super does with the sweeper. :beerchug:

ACecil 06-26-2012 09:59 PM

Didn't do any lawn sweeping, but I did take the 1872 for a spin! Man, I love that tractor! :biggrin2:
