Thanks guys! :beerchug:

Today, I spent most of the day working on the 100...Got it running, installed two sets of IH weights I had laying around, and took it for a drive after it being tore apart for several months.

Decided try the 100 as a puller (10 HP, 950lbs class), as well as a worker by bracing the stock hitch (no big hitch setup to change out between jobs).

Wondering how much the tractor would weigh, without weights...Anyone know?

It should weigh 765 lbs with fuel and 175 lb operator.

Thanks, Todd! :beerchug:

johncub7172 07-19-2012 06:19 AM

:bigthink:I dont know for sure. I weighed 905 sitting on my 71 that had Sears wheelweights. I'am about 210, making the tractor weight about 695.

Today, I put the ole' cement slab on a skid to use as another dead weight. Then went and got the 100 to see what I need to work on before the pull in 2 weeks. :beerchug:

Need to add a little weight to the tractor, but for being on wet grass (haven't practiced with the dead weight since last fall, and the dirt area had grown up)..It did pretty good! Tried it in 3rd gear a couple times, and it still had plenty of power, guess the new head gasket paid off!

Do you have the tires loaded? If not that should get you 50 +- more LBS.

drglinski 07-19-2012 05:07 PM

I'm taking my mower deck to be welded (wheel is rusted out) on saturday and my intentions were to do one final cut of the "grass" today before I could get it back. The beginning of the week was high 90s low 100s and today was to be the nicest day (as well as my short day for work during the week). I said mow "grass" because only the weeks are growing here because of the lack of significant rain in the past 3 months.

Whatda ya know? We get a nice heavy soaking rain. No cutting today. Glad we are getting rain, but still....... it had to be today?

Nope. I would..But supposedly the pulling club does not allow filled tires. :bash2:

Today, I spent most of the day at a local tractor show going on today, tomorrow, and Sunday.

Here's our area so far. My grandpa's Oliver 66 that he had owned for several years before passing away, 154 Cub Lo Boy, 1782, and our Farmall H. :beerchug:

Sam Mac 07-20-2012 09:19 PM

Hey Conner

Cool pics! Good talking to you the other night.

mrcubcadet 07-20-2012 10:44 PM

Thanks Sam! Going back up tomorrow, and bringing the 100. :beerchug:

Nice talking to you, too!

Did a little work on the 2182. It was running crappy and since I had already replaced the spark plugs, cap & rotor, checked the compression, adjusted the valves, I figured the only other thing was the carb had to be bad so I bought a new one from Bota (lots cheaper than Cub) put that on and no big change. Pulled the plugs and found that one of the new Autolite plugs was NG. Got a new one and Holy Crap has this thing got power! You can keep your Kohlers and Vanguards. Went and mowed some stuff that had not been mowed in 3 weeks and it didn't even make it grunt. Happy Days are Here Again. :beerchug::biggrin2:

Allen the wild thing is I thought it had OK power running on 2 of the 3 cylinders. It's just stupid now.:biggrin2: Gotta load the rears and maybe get some AG's for it. I'm getting good at using the turning brakes to stop the tires from spinning. :beerchug: Nothing like a Super Cubota

_DX3_ 07-21-2012 08:53 PM

I actually got to mow today for the first time in 5 weeks. It was mainly because the weeds were so tall :bash2:. The drive shaft front coil pin sheared on me way down in the front yard. Had to push the 1711 up to the shop in the shade. Got the shaft removed and replaced both front and rear pins. Then of course I had to move the engine forward to get the shaft back in. My back was screaming in pain by the time I got done. At least I found out I will need a new drive shaft and front bushing later on. The front bushing is bad. The drive shaft was worn pretty good.

You bet these things have power!

johncub7172 07-21-2012 09:05 PM

I hear ya DX3, I mowed today too as the yard was looking like Arizona Anny's catus patch. Been dry here as well, 7-10 inches low of rainfall so far. I have a 1990 MTD White lt-14 that refuses to die that I mow with.
Glad you got seat time in, and repairs made. Those pins are expensive from the Cub Cadet dealer. I was soaked for 5 bucks each there.

I've had those days. But on the bright side when you get done fixing all the little PITA things you'll have a cool Cub. :beerchug:

I went over to Earl J's place again this morning and watched him fix his tractors. Then I watched him mow grass for a bit.

Also stopped and saw Scott Clevelands Mom and sister. Hes doing ok, but back in the hosp again, please keep scott in your prayers, he and his family need it.

Ok back to working on the 2072, carry on!

ACecil 07-22-2012 04:16 PM

Great pic, Vince! Glad Earl is enjoying his cub!

The 3205 had a fuel leak because of melted rubber grommets in the fuel tank.:bash2: I had to remove the fender pan to replace them and figured it was a good time to install the NOS cat 0 hitch I picked up a few months ago. The install wasn't too hard and I also replaced the fuel line and filter while I had it apart. Then it was time to get some grass cut and clean her up.

Sam Mac 07-23-2012 10:02 AM

Shop looks SWEET! You have a Killer lawn. Tractor looks awesome! :beerchug:

Methos 07-23-2012 11:10 AM

Allen, Jenn looks to happy on the super! Tell her she's got to earn her stripes on the 100 before she gets seat time on the super.:biggrin2:

Conner awesome video! I like that you took your smoker along for the ride.:beer2:

Todd the 3205 still looks sweet! Hopefully you've gotten all the little problems fixed on it. Got to keep the grass cut or the princess will get ya!:biggrin2:

Got some seat time on the 129 today mowing the yard!:beer2:

EarlJ 07-23-2012 09:21 PM

Well as some of you noticed in the pic by Vince O I got seat time on the 107 yesterday cutting grass, today though got to have some good fun on the 126. Pulled it out and hit a dead row in the garden with the cultivators getting ready for fall crops. My neighbor pulls up on his Kubota with his springs on and asks if my cub is up to the challenge of breaking his up so he doesn't have to mount his tiller. Why certainly and it will do better than that 4wd Kubota with springs and with a puff of black smoke off we went...good times she did a nice job breaking it up and leveling it out...gotta love seat time..:biggrin2:
