Thanks Guys ..... ordered a set of 4.00 x 8 tri ribs for the frount from trucktire
today , going to see what they look like on the wide front rims . I know they will ballon out , tring to see if the middle rib will bite more on the puller .
as i do not think they make a single rib size that small . next project will be too make the hood longer , and take a pic of the paint job on the 104 so far .

camarokidz28 11-20-2009 11:06 AM

Got the ruler out to see how long i have to make the new hood . Going to be 54 1/2 inches long .

124 mower deck

Today I finished mounting a 48" deck, mule drive and under carriage that I found locally for my 124. The deck is very solid with some surface rust that I will soon sand blast off and repaint. No holes and the spindles are good !! It isn't too pretty right now, but it mows good ! :biggrin2.gif:

I went out to the garage, and I looked at it for a minute. I then sat my beer on it. The cub handled this pretty well!

I never get on any tractor w/o a Diet Pepsi (don't drink beer), and the old tractors don't have cup holders! I am thankful for the lighter on the 125.

camarokidz28 11-23-2009 07:25 PM

Well after i got back from the DR ' S 8 shots in the back ( there trying to get the numbness out of my left leg , rear end and back ) Lorenzo and I went out to work on the 104 puller hood . Took the old beat up hood cut it in half . Took some flat stock 1 inch wide by 1/8 thick and driled some holes to make the hood 55 inches long . Riverted it together , then i got some old vinal out and laid it out on the hood . I took the wifes aluminum foil out and started to mold the hood . have to reaplace the foil since she found out i took it . I will be off to the locial parts store in the moring to get some fiber glass and cloth to start glassing the hood this week . He is learing a lot working on this project .

Will do Diz JR .

toyman 11-24-2009 08:53 AM

Camarokid - I've been thinking about how to make a longer hood if I were to lengthen the frame on my 70, and there it was right in front of my face!!! That's a great idea. I've made gauge pods for my Chevelle, and other various items with fiberglass resin and fleece. Looking forward to the seeing the process.

camarokidz28 11-24-2009 11:01 AM

Got my set of 4.00 x 8 tri ribs from trucktire to today .So i had to get them on the 5 and 1/4 inches rims and see how they looked ( w/tubes )

Nice tri ribs, camarokid!

eastonct124 11-24-2009 02:23 PM

What front rims did you use? They look factory, but cubs have 6.00" don't they?
I want to use tri ribs, that are really narrow, like 4.00"
But I'm not sure what will fit my 124. I have 3/4" spindles.

eastonct124 11-24-2009 02:28 PM

Toyman, I can fab you a hood, that will look factory, just need paint...no filler.
Just give me a length.
I've been a panel maker for 10 years. Do mostly prewar Italian and French cars.
A Tractor hood is Easy Beans.

Matt G. 11-24-2009 03:01 PM

eastonct124-

All of our cubs have 8" front wheels. It looks like he put the narrow front tires on the wider wheels meant for 16-6.50-8 tires.

camarokidz28 11-24-2009 07:21 PM

Matt G. thats what I did .

eastonct124 I was going To make one from metal at my freinds fab shop , .The rims came from a 147 i had that was parted out .
