ajgross 08-15-2012 04:00 PM

Jed I'm glad you are ok. I hope everyone else on here reads this and realizes how dangerous it is to ride your tractors up ramps. I never ride mine into the back of my truck. I always walk beside it when going up ramps into a pickup.

OUCH, glad your OK. Just my 2 cents but a trailer is a whole lot cheaper than getting hurt. Bought this a couple years ago when I got tired of taking chances hauling my Kubota BX on a single axle trailer. It hauls 2 Cub Supers with no problem.:beerchug:

Actually spent yesterday washing my fleet of cubs and got them picture ready! Then took the O and 108 out to the fairgrounds! :biggrin2: Heres some pics the crew all lined up and shiny!

I also did some work to the O. Got the steering tube cap in place as well as the rubber gromet that goes around the steering tube in the dash, Now i just need to get the threads cleaned up so i can get a acorn nut to finish it off. Then i cut out that old exhaust and put in a new one consisting of parts form the iron plumbing pipe section from my hardware store. Still need a muffler but sounds pretty neat as it is! Still has a carb issue to work out but she runs and drives under her own power. Hopefully soon i can get more of my O project finished.

Upgraded Electrical for the Winch

I found myself short on power for the 3,000 lbs. winch on the Cub, so I switched over to a full size car battery, strong enough to crank a Chev 350. I had to move a few small parts around, but that was not a problem; there is exactly enough room between the brackets of a 1641 for the battery to easily drop in to. I spaced it up 1/4 inch to clear naughty things that will grind a hole up through the bottom if you are not careful. Right now I have it held down with a nylon strap, but I need to get to the store and just get an automotive battery tie-down kit. Next week.
I also cleaned up a few minor problems that had been bugging me:
I built a bracket for the winch remote plug and placed it right above the winch solonoid on the inside right side of the firewall. I wired a 3-way center-loaded switch on the dash to run the winch without having to dig out the remote, but needed to be able to shut the winch off completely for when mitzengubben are messing with the tractor when I'm not around. So, I added a battery switch with a heavy fusable link to the engine compartmentside of the left firewall.

Just finished up installing a new to me S/G on the 129
No more noises and good charging! Just in time as well since the lawn needs mowed again. I think this is the most I have needed to ever mow in August. The drought is about over in NEOhio

Thanks!

The machinist of many years, and a friend of my dads decided against putting in a roll pin (Due to not being able to put even a mark on the adapter very easily), and welding (Due to cooking the pump seal). So, he cleaned the input shaft and the adapter, mixed and put JB weld on both..And now the dang thing is as hard as a rock! :beerchug:

I believe it will be fine. It's VERY solid, and has been great so far, even under load, and wheel slippage. :beerchug:
