Had some time this weekend to get back to my 1711. The weather's been so nice I figured I better take advantage so we got it outside and pressure washed the chassis and the engine. Here's some before and after pics. It's so much nicer when you can see the parts you're working on :biggrin2:

Methos 09-30-2012 05:50 PM

Looking good! Keep up the hard work!

4SPEED 09-30-2012 07:43 PM

I had time today to turn the garden upside down. I love the seat time on my 582.

Doug,
Great shot of the sod turned over. Looks like you will have a nice garden next year.
Some shots as Cheryl and I gleaned our garden last weekend. Yea I had to get the 147 out in the sun too!
Hope things are good out there. Have fun with the Cubs!
Regards,
Chris

Jenn

You did a fine job training the boy. Anytime you can get a guy to do as told and he has fun doing it you win, at least that's what I've been told. :biggrin2:

Maybe it's because you follow him around with the camera so he can show off his Toys LOL

Sam

Nice shots of your Cubs working!

Yesterday, I tried out my new baler on about 3 1/2 acres. Put the 46 bales in the barn, and got to cleaning on the baler, pulling the hay out, and blowing it out with the leaf blower. Now, it has absolutely no hay inside, and is just about ready for storage.

Now, you might ask what this has to do with Cubs...Well, tonight I sold the 46 bales to my Amish neighbors/buddies, for $5 a bale. Now, the surprise is...That $230 is going toward a very straight Original that my dealership has!!

Here's some pictures of the baler, and of the hay drying in their barn. They are all spread out with some salt on each to help draw the moisture. (We had to bale wet due to unexpected coming rain.)

ACecil 10-01-2012 10:24 PM

Thanks Sam & Chris!

I changed the oil, filter, air filter and gas filter on my 1872. While I was at it added some plumbing to the oil drain. Now I can drain directly into a container and not all over the frame. If I have trouble removing the mule drive, I'll replace the 4" nipple with a close thread nipple and a 45. It's a work in progress, but it's a start.

ACecil 10-03-2012 04:00 PM

Nice work! The supers are great tractors. I really enjoy my 1872!

Just got back with my new Original! Really straight, with no cracks! My buddy at the dealer said it was a barn find, and ran when parked years ago.

Looks to be a late December 1962 model..With a serial of 490... I can't remember the rest. :biggrin2:

Methos 10-04-2012 06:59 PM

Congrats Conner!

Well, then get here then!

mrcubcadet 10-04-2012 09:32 PM

After I got started on the Original, replacing the two main ignition wires..AJ pulled up and we got his 4' 3 pt blade off, and got my 3 pt disc loaded up, and ready for him to get to Kevin. :beerchug:

After that, I didn't even touch the Original for the rest of the evening...AJ and I got to talking, and finally had to 'pause' our conversation once it started getting dark! :biggrin2:

Diz Jr. 10-04-2012 09:36 PM

Nice Original mrcubcadet

I spend some time at the and got the 4 and 5 digits running today. It was the first time I've heard them running and I was very happy how well they sounded. Time to test some clutches.I didn't take them for a spin but I be getting some seat time on them soon.:beer2:

Diz Jr. 10-05-2012 11:05 PM

Glad to hear they are running good.
Hopefully the clutches will be alright as well
