Nothing like a FEL. I know this isn't a Cub but this is how I used to handle firewood with the splitter. Saves the back big time.

ajcombs 10-11-2012 09:21 AM

Sweet looking wood loading ideas might just have to get myself a FEL now.

cub123 10-11-2012 09:24 AM

The bx looks good Sam, nothing beats 4x4 for getting wood out of hard to get to places:beerchug:

ACecil 10-11-2012 01:27 PM

Thanks for the pics, guys!

You have some beautiful property, Sam! Jenn and I are going to have to make it up your way sometime.

jsoluna 10-11-2012 03:07 PM

Those BX Kubotas are awesome machines. Can be a PITA to work on because there's so much capability built into a smaller tractor, but they're worth it.

And yeah, the FEL is lookin' better all the time guys, I agree. I just keep telling myself that the exercise is good for me :)

That pic was from when I lived in Tax You To Death CT. I used to use the wood the heat my pool.

Love to have you and Jenn up some time.

Before the BX I did everything with my 1210 and that tractor did things that it was never designed to do. My old back sure appreciates the FEL though.:biggrin2:

jsoluna 10-11-2012 04:31 PM

Sam,

Yeah i bet it does!

My back started giving me problems about 5 years ago and I can definitely feel it after loading and stacking and splitting a cord of wood by hand. Should probably see a chiropractor, but between bills and mouths to feed...

It just makes seat time all that much more enjoyable though!

Yesterday I media blasted my front blade and extra frame and painted them. Today I found out that my 100's 42" deck has a loose middle spindle.

Very nice, Conner! How did the smoker and plow do? :biggrin2:

jbrewer 10-14-2012 05:20 PM

Scrappy the O

Got the O out on Craftsman leaf sweeper duty. If only my 123 was as reliable as the O! It was a great day to get some seat time. I could almost ignore the 180 degrees of free play in the steering system :-)
(Next repair on the O!)

Got the plow adjusted this evening, and then went over to the garden that I will be plowing this week, to test it. Could have went deeper, but the ground was greasy from moisture, and I couldn't get much traction! :bash2:

ACecil 10-14-2012 11:22 PM

Good pics, buddy! Keep enjoying your smoker. :beerchug:

Spent some more time on the smoker and plow, today!

Disked the garden area up, to cut some of the corn stocks and vines...am now letting that spot dry a little. In the mean time, I worked on getting the plow scoured up, and ready to plow the garden tomorrow or Wendsday. :beerchug:

Tried it in some sod, and then went to a field...That's where I got 'carried away'! :biggrin2:

ACecil 10-15-2012 10:13 PM

Yesterday I picked up this blade for 50 bucks. It has all original paint on it and is in amazing shape. Then after seeing all the 100s at plow days last weekend it made me miss mine so much. Mine was torn down to do some clutch repair so I threw her back together. I ended up putting a 109 motor in it tho because the original motor lacked power and I think the compression spring fell off the cam. Its so nice to have a normal muffler instead of a pepper pot now

Cubcrazy 10-19-2012 09:39 AM

Nice pickup on the blade Nick!:beerchug:

4SPEED 10-19-2012 11:53 AM

good buy on the blade. now add 150lbs to the wheels and that 100 will plow any kind of snow.....

ihnick 10-19-2012 12:49 PM

Naaaaah the 149 and the169 get snow duty :beer2:

ACecil 10-19-2012 01:13 PM

Nice 100 and blade, Nick!

Nick, sweet score!

red56turbo 10-19-2012 05:28 PM

Nick,
Nice score and sweet setup. My 169 used to get snow duty, but I "retired" her for now. She's still got the grenade gears and I don't wanna window the block while throwing snow. Gotta get those darn things out of there one of these days. So the 1650 (without built in grenades) it taking over the duties this winter. That is if we get any snow. The weather guessers are saying a warmer/less precip. winter than usual in the western US. They don't know about the eastern US yet. Here's the timeline: :Work: :HeadScratch: :Work: :bigthink:  :GoodLuck:  :Work: :ExtremeFunny:

(Man, I need to lay off the emoticons!)

EricR 10-19-2012 09:51 PM

Well got 102-P ready for some snow duty this winter.
Went from this,

To this as I think it will do better for our needs.
