Actually wasn't all today, but, As you can see the frame wasn't too bad dirty, just a little greasy up under the engine area.

I started cleaning up the metal panels with some medium cut polish and cleaner/wax. This stuff is great.

I also worked on the engine cradle and the modification. Ground all the old paint and scum from the rails down to bare metal. Welded the cross member in. Added a few coats of primer and a few coats of Satin Black Paint. Yes I know it is supposed to be yellow, but, I have plenty of black and no yellow and no $$$ at the moment..LOL.. The black kind of blends in with the engine anyway. You can also see the cleaned up frame better. The engine is actually sitting in the tractor now, but I did not get a picture of that yet. I was going to put the drive shaft in, but noticed on both ends, some serious wear from the end bushings. So I'll be picking up some 5/8 stock tomorrow and making another drive shaft. I hope I can get the holes drilled straight. Still haven't figured out how to do that yet, unless I can make a holder/template out of some aluminum angle with pre-drilled holes for alignment. The new flex couplings are mounted. One to the flywheel and two to the hydro. I had read on here somewhere that putting the drive shaft in was easier to do this way. At any rate, that was all I could get accomplished today.

Can someone tell me if I have these bushings oriented correctly.
Starting on the left, the flywheel end, and then the ball goes into the hydro end followed by the second bushing in the picture? The shoulder on the second bushing should face to the rear of the tractor?

If those ball bushings came out of the outer race, they both need to be replaced.

Do you have a spare/junk driveshaft coupler? You can bolt/weld it to a piece of angle iron and make a hole drilling jig. That's what I did and it works great.

Get a 941-3004 for the rear coupler and a 703-0204 for the front.

1650 Repairs
 

Finally got the engine back from being rebuilt. Completed the engine cradle upgrade, replaced bad ISO mounts, replaced cooling fan and installed tonight.

Didn't get to fire it up tonight. I found that the throttle cable doesn't make a good enough ground connection!! :bigthink: LOL......MAN......did that thing ever get hot quick!! :Duh:

After I tried the starter and it didn't move I remembered some posts about making sure you strap good ground cable from the engine to the frame. :bash2: Guess that's next on my list!!

Here's a Brinly cultivator I picked up last weekend. There were a couple clamps and wedges and one of the tines missing. I made some new clamps and wedges but I still need to make a new tine for the center. Does anyone know where to find new points for the tines? I don't think the ones on it are the correct ones. I believe the original ones were wider.

Those are original...there were several different styles.
