Got the heat shield today for the 1882/2282. Welder did a great job. I decided to have him make me one more so that I have one to copy should one of us need one in the future. :biggrin2:

Your heat shield looks awesome!

Did you give him a drawing to work off of? If so, great job by you in laying it out for him, great job by him in accurately fabricating the piece. What gauge steel, looks fairly heavy in the pictures, maybe 16 gauge?

It's 14GA. I gave him the one from the 2284 to use as a template. Reason I'm having him make an extra is that it is NLA and the CH22 repower for the Mag18's is pretty much a bolt in. About all that you need to change is the drive shaft, muffler and drill the motor plate for the new engine. My guess is that sooner or later one of the guys in this group will need a heat shield. The welder put all the cutting info into his computer controlled plasma cutter so he can burn the steel in a couple minutes for one. I'll keep the spare as a master for future builds. :beerchug: |

The muffler for the 2284 came in today so I put it and the new heat shield on along with the hood. Rode it around the yard, sweet tractor, gonna hate to let this one go. :beerchug:

Things are looking good in the Sam Mac neighborhood. That sure is a pretty looking machine. There is just something about those supers.

Great looking super, Sam!

Looks great Sam!
I just have to ask what is that sticking through one of the front port holes. |
