CC 982 Needed some running
3 Attachment(s)
Went to start up the ole beast today and it was surging, come to find out the jets in the carb were dirty...so not to prolong the pain and repeated trouble, I went ahead and pulled the fuel tank, flushed and replaced the gromment and the tank valve, fuel filter and IT ROARED BACK TO LIFE.
So the grandson had to take it for a "closely supervised" test drive. |
Great pictures of the 982 BIGMOZEKE
Looks like the grandson was having a good time :biggrin2: |

Yes he is already addicted to cub tractors. He actually wakes up in the mornings and tells us about his dreams of tractors.
Getting them hooked on stuff like this early in life can only help to keep the interested in this when they grow up. Got some pics of him with his "green" battery powered tractor jacked up with a floor jack and laying underneath of it working, while I am working on the cub......wouldn't want to offend and post it on here but the caption could read...."Even the little Green Tractors Break Down". |
Great pics, Joe! Your grandson is loving the 982!

Got more ready

Got more ready for the blizzard that's coming tonight. Put strobes on the rear of thrower tractor. Also gassed up both the plow tractor and the thrower tractor and put battery tenders on both. I hope we get some of 6-10"s they're predicting with high winds. I also hauled a couple loads of firewood up.

I picked that up a few months ago from a guy through a friend that was moving down south. He just wanted to get rid of it and I picked it up for $50! I saw that he replaced one of the sheer pins with a bolt and I was all ready to go out and get new ones when I found the original spares from the factory still zip tied underneath the controls! The guy babied this thing. So, I serviced it a few weeks ago and it runs like a top. Ill surely be using it to supplement the Cubs work tonight/tomorrow. |

Got the 100 out to clear the driveway and made it about 15' and it died and won't start now. It has no spark at all. Yesterday, I started it and noticed it was charging at 19 volts. One of the contacts in the voltage reg had a piece or corrosion or something shorting it out. Cleaned the contact and it was charging at 13-14V. Must have fried the coil or condenser. I'll check the coil with a meter tomorrow.
Had to get the walk behind blower out to clear the drive. |
Hope you get it figured out IHinIN
