Pushed mine into the back of the garage so I had room to store the materials for the small fence project I started today. Dug holes for 9 posts 3' deep today and poured concrete around 3 of them

We had the 1650 and 782 out doing some chores today. I was doing the thatching with the 1650, boy I sure do enjoy this tractor:biggrin2: I can't get over how nice those tri-ribs steer, sweet!
Nancy hopped on the 782 and did the sweeping, I'm thinking she's liking it, which isn't good for me:bigthink: A great cub day was topped off with a ride on the 100, but didn't get any pictures, so I guess it never happend, but it felt like it:biggrin2: |
Enjoyed the pics everybody!:beerchug:

147 time
I've been piddling with the 147 ...last week I fixed the tank leak and cleaned it out good. I noticed that it surged at idle quite a bit, then I noticed quite a bit of slop in the throttle shaft.
I pulled the carb , disassembled and rebuilt it with some new parts from a kit I had , and put a bushing on the throttle shaft. I REALLY took my time getting the choke plate screws out this time so I didn't snap one like I did last time with the "O". It took about 5 min each of back and forth to get them out without damage. I noticed that the throttle linkage was loose on the throttle shaft too. I could have zapped it with the MIG (and may still if this doesn't work) but I put a blob of epoxy on it to keep it from shifting. The peening done 40 yrs ago had loosened up quite a bit. The carb shaft is steel in this one, not brass as in the old Carter on the O. Hopefully that'll smooth out the idle some .. it was good therapy either way. I'll find out later this week! John |
Good job, John! Keep us updated. :beerchug:

rebuilt the clutch on our newest "O".
The old shaft was WORN, right where the front bearing was. I made a new shaft out of 5/8" steel and used a connector like the one that goes onto the shaft that goes into the reduction housing. I just put the new on in front of the flex ring and drilled the new shaft for the pin. It is now MUCH quieter with the new bearing! :beerchug: While I was there, i replaced the spring with a yellow one that I had laying around. It looks great now! Much nicer than that rusty/worn shaft that was on there. |
Nice pic's there zippy1! Good to see spring finally made it up your way, and buy the way, really nice lookin' tractors you've got there!

Heres . A pic of the deck. I didnt pain the center pulley cuz i had a new zinc plated one on the old deck i was going to put on, but cant get off. The pulley covers still need done.i was in a hurry to finish as my other mower a jd pto keeps shorting out and grass needed mowed. I finished mowing with the new deck and smelled something burning and squeeling wich led to the pto bearing failure on the cub. Just disassembled and ordered 2from ebay for 10bucks a piece

The deck is looking good!

Deck looks good, the bearing not so much. :beerchug:

Somewhere under all the green is trailer... and load 1 of 5 tree trimmings heading out into the woods to take a dirt nap.
Scrappy the O may not EVER release its grip on his steering wheel , but he'll still haul the freight. Duke, it's still your favorite colors...white , yellow, red, orange, black and rust...and primer! :beerchug: Johnhttp://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o...ps9f431005.jpg |

782 drive shaft repair
15 Attachment(s)
A while ago I picked up a 782 with a bunch of ailments, but the worst at the moment is a transmission leak. So the first thing I did when I got it home was to check out the hydro before I took it off the truck (I think they used old motor oil in the hydro, yuck !) As you can see in the pictures I had to replace the drive shaft, I'm surprised it didn't take out the fan it was so sloppy. I tightened up the shaft and got the motor running long enough to get the 782 off the truck and in the garage to finish the repair. Hope you don't mind all the pictures. :bigthink:
|
Wow! That was pretty worn!
Looks a lot better now!:beerchug: |
Thanks for all the pics, guys!
