Since no one expressed interest in the 75lb weights (see For Sale), I put them on the 1872. Man, those were a PITA compared to the cast ones, but they do the job and I could definitely tell a difference mowing the steep hills in the back. Wife is usually neutral (ok, uninterested) on the cubs, but even she likes the cast ones better.

Also, threw on some "close enough" cub cadet yellow for my formerly red wagon.

I did something I thought I would never do and I took the FEL off. It went pretty quick. I plan on installing my creeper gear I got at the NC PD and getting my model #1 tiller ready to use this fall. The FEL will be going back on in 3 weeks or so. I want it back on before the weather turns cold.

My hydro lift arm broke so I need to take that into work and have it welded up. It was broken once before and this weld didn't hold. The maint. man at work has ugly welds but they hold good so going to have him weld it up.

Didn't happen today but I ordered all the seals and o-rings for my creeper gear. I was able to get them from my cub dealer. I need to get the gear box to the tiller belt then I can do the install and mount the tiller.

Duke,
My hydro lift lever broke on my 123 also a few months back. My friend made me a new one and welded up the old one. But I sold the hydro unit since then and I let both levers go with it. Mind broke in almost the same spot.

Great looking 1872 and cart, Richard! :beerchug:

Duke: The 122 looks sharp! I can't believe, how much different it looks without the loader. Great talking with you, as always!

Very nice set-up aagitch! Tuff looking tractor too! raboley- Good idea on the el'cheep-o cart! I have the same one, and I like those amber flashers you got there......gives me an idea! Nice Cubs everyone! Yesterday I used the 71 and the cheep-o cart to haul away my sweetcorn stalks, and drove the cubby down to see the old man, my neighbor. Sorry, no picts., was working too hard because I thought we were going to get rain and did not. Good thing I dont go by the lies the weatherman says or I'd spend my whole life inside the house. The 71 is running like a swiss watch!:American Flag 1:

Today I ordered a carb kit, glass bowl, for the 127, hopefully that will stop my gas leak.

I also ordered a pulley for my snowblower, hopefully I'll get that going this winter.

Seems I've been busy with the cubs lately. In the last week or so, I bought a IH built 682, sold my CCC built 682, traded a tiller gear box for a mag 20, bought some rear wheels and tires for my 482, sold my snapper tiller, sold a 44c deck, replaced the magneto in the 582, rebuiilt the carb on the 582, and I got my 782 powdercoated. Busy week.

I got to play with my Cub 123 and #1 tiller this afternoon for the first time since I took it apart, cleaned it, and painted it. Had lots of fun tilling, and had a few "YIPPEE!!" moments and a few "RATS!!!!" moments:

In the YIPPEE!!!!! column:

It looks great!!!
Everything fit like it was supposed to.
It tills VERY WELL!!
Much less work compared to wrestling with a two-wheeled tiller.

In the RATS!!!!! column:

Had a couple of bolts fall off that I hadn't tightened properly, had to fix.
Broke the skinny drive belt. Must've been too tight. Need to order a new one.
Could stay outside all day, but it always has to get dark!!!

But, all in all, a GREAT afternoon/evening!!!
