It was cold here today so I went to the shop and
I made a new yoke? for my cultivator. http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...l/DSC03021.jpg Here is the NEW yoke-hitch I made for my cultivator . Just below is the old piece that the P.O. made. It was way too flimsy. I'm not sure what the original hitch is supposed to look like. so I improvised. http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...l/DSC03028.jpg http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...l/DSC03027.jpg I pulled the cultivator around the side yard to see how it worked. I need more tilt so the rear and front spoons dig at equal depth. http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...l/DSC03025.jpg http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...l/DSC03024.jpg I could not fing my hitch pin so I used a screwdriver. http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...l/DSC03023.jpg Here is a shot of the cultivator attached to my #1 original. |
Between deer hunting:I pulled the smoking, choking model 73 out of the barn and brought it in the garage for a look at the engine top end.
Found out a couple things. 1. Pulled the head off and found lots of slop in the piston side to side. Valves had some minor movement too. Lots of carbon. Looks like a rebuild of this engine next year. 2. Wiped off the dirty oily grease from the rear cover and found the factory sticker proclaiming that this is a 8 HP. Since I haven't gotten into the hp info for different models, I guess this makes sense? model 73= 8 HP?:) Anyway that was not of great concern to me I like the way the other 8 Hp runs on the model 83, ( I think its a 8 HP?) Buttoned this model 73 back up and while the son Eric was here he took it for a smokey "Spin and Grin". I think he would like to have it at his place to keep the 106 company! Eric got a nice 8 point today (last day of archery season for PA). So I helped him process that and get it in the fridge. I did briefly look at the plow and tiller I have. I need to take some pictures and post them So you folks can get me started on new projects. Regards, Chris |
Silly
Ok this sounds silly but I used my 127 and front plow to push all the leaves from my 23 trees into piles in the street. Much faster than a rake or backpack blower haha
