I had the 782D out for the first time this season. I noticed it was going thru a lot of fuel, then noticed it seemed to be spraying most of it out the left side of the tractor. I had meant to fix this last fall (but you know how that goes)
Took the side panel off, then replaced the fuel filter and more importantly the leaky O-ring and we're good to go again. I love that tractor... what a hoss that little diesel is ....! John |
Glad you're enjoying the 782D, John!

Sweet setup Darrell!:beerchug:

Darrell,
Those things are HEAVY! Did ya lift the front up any? The guy I bought mine from used it on a 982. He told me with the tiller up, he could walk around to the front and lift the tractor with one finger. :biggrin2: Still have to get mine installed and give it a try. Mine does look different than yours, though. Thanks for sharing the pic! |

Huh... I'll have to try that! Mine doesn't raise the tiller a whole lot off the ground... I might have to do a little adjusting... :beerchug: |
Good looking 982 and tiller, Darrell!

Dug into the 149

Got the 149 in the shop last night and dug into it today.
First was to fix one of the PO mods on the positive cable. Took off the tiller gear box, and of course sprung a leak. Who knows when the last time the fluid and filter was changed anyway, so........ It was some fairly gunky stuff:bigthink: |
Todd has a new project! :beerchug:

Don't know what it's job is going to be yet.. But I am keeping it:beerchug: |

Went over to a buddy's house and played around with the 2072.
I recently did some work on it including sending the relief valves off to be rebuilt at Machtech, putting new tubes in the rear tires and then loading them with windshield washer fluid and then relining the brakes with the lining mentioned on here from McMaster Carr. Also i adjusted the lift rod on the 54" Haban blade and tightened up the bottom pin and lift bolt adjuster. It used to only lift up about 3 or 4 inches, now it's more like 12" or so. Thanks so much for the advice and ideas from you all. It totally drives different between all the little tweaks. The relief valves make it way more snappy, the brakes make it stop, and the traction is worlds better with the tires loaded with fluid ballast. Being able to lift the blade more than a few inches makes it not hang up on every little stick or low spot. What a world of difference. So about my buddies house and the seat time - He lives on the a small lake in Central New York that was frozen over this winter maybe 8 to 10". With the warmer weather (finally) the lake has thawed out and the ice broke up but not without leaving what looks like dump truck loads of ice on the shore line. So i pushed some of the driftwood and ice around, mostly playing around and seeing if the blade was better than before. Drove right up on a 3 to 4' high pile of ice and pushed the top off and had him snap a pic with a bit of a grin on my face! Oh yeah - without a doubt. Now for the Pics: |
Way cool! :beerchug:

Not as good a Cub weekend as it should have been!!!

Allen and Jenn, the Cubs look great! Glad you had a good weekend!
After discovering that the chinese diesel will not fit in the 2072 or 782 without serious modification to the frame or engine, it appeared to get worse. I put the mower deck on the 1864. Last weekend I cleaned the underside of the deck and spayed it with EZ Glide that I found at TSC. As soon as I engaged the PTO the AMP light came on :bash2: I went ahead and mowed what I had to (as the PO had put in a good battery), did my usual blow off, andchecked charging voltage. 12.4 V:bash2: :bash2: I pulled the left side panel to check the fuse and found that the voltage regulator plug was half disconnected and arching! reconnected and it is charging now. Amp light still comes on with PTO and headlights at the same time. More diag needed, but its better for now! :beerchug: I built a wounded Cub transporter from recycled material I had laying around and put the 2072 and 782 in the woodshed with the others :biggrin2: one big happy Cub family!! I also painted a set of weights I am going to put on the 1864 :beer2: Sorry I forgot to take the pic of all 4 happily together in the woodshed :BangPC: |
Nice pics Jenn and Allen!:beerchug:
