I was going to make a log splitter to go on the cub, thinking a mounted one on a sleeve hitch run off the cub, either split from hydro or a pump run off the back of the engine. I found a 20 ton used for a good price so I will just pull it around with the cub instead. I still like the idea of one on the back, but I am betting it would be way to slow moving the cub around instead of rolling the wood to it.

How well does that splitter work? I am looking for faster ram speeds, that is the biggest problem I have with most splitters, too slow.

When starting this machine I felt the most I would use a woodsplitter would be 5 days a year, if it was going to take up space it had to do something on some of those other 360 days!!

The CAD-Tr Model 6 has a slot on the end so attachments can be replaced by simply pulling a pin.

The slot accepts a piece of 1x8 hot rolled steel bar. Anything I can make out of or weld to the 1x8 steel bar can become an attachment for the Model 6.

The first attachment was the heavy wall tube (1/2" thick) shown in a previous post, to remove a shaft from a bearing or as noted could compress a Cub Cadet clutch spring!!

The second attachment I made was a 2 stage splitting wedge which will split wood into 3 pieces with each stroke.
A 3-way wedge makes quick work of oak firewood.

Now I need recommendations as to what attachment to make next, any recommendations??

So what 6 things will it do?-------nevermind, we posted at the same time, lol

That is cool! Awesome idea and great build. Looks great!

As for fast wood splitting, it reminded me of this video.
