A bit arcane...and I have a computer science minor with years of pc experience, and some low level programming ability...maybe it's the scotch in my glass tonight...must I somehow save them turned upside down on my drive, then upload expecting them to to turn 180 degrees? (sip, sip, slurp...)

That looks just like my 42" deck!! The number you posted earlier is just what mine says. From the Cub Cadet website (parts section of course), look for this within the Attachments folder for your tractor:

Main Frame and Knife Unit -38" and 42" Blade- Part 2 (1968-1971)

So far everything I purchased for my deck from that diagram has matched up correctly.

So the local CC store has all the parts, still? Good to know...
