I have a similar tool box on one of my 102s. In addition to what has already been mentioned I always stored the little clevis that I used to hook up a chain as I could never remember where I put that thing. I also usually had some bundle ties. I have a wood splitter that has a ball hitch and stored the ball there too as I could never find it when I wanted to use it too.

I would like to carry a hammer but any one that would fit is not really big enough to be of any help. Any ideas on what might work as hammer and also fit.

I don't have a picture, but I seen, and then made, a 15" crescent wrench with a chunk of metal welded onto it, to double as a hammer. Not sure if it would fit, might have to use a 12". I have an old school 1/2"-9/16" reversible Craftsman ratchet wrench in mine, along with hitch pins and hair pins.
