Something wrong with that picture....:bigthink:

(A) Someone has put the wrong hood decal on it.
or
(B) Someone has painted a Yellow & White (MTD version) red.

I'm thinking the hood was repainted. The -399 shows it was a red 782 but that decal is from a white hood off of a -100 tractor.

After de-grease, and pressure washed.

Hood was replaced with 682 hood.

And, who puts that seat, on a cub? I did. Not recommended for cubs with seat/fender pan and rear mounted battery. just too high. Might work ok on a NF without full fender pan and rear battery. But I had to try it. It will eventually get replaced with correct seat.

It has the CC 3pt lift. Need the sleeve hitch. not much more going to be done to it, until I get the 169 back together.

I did get the side panels, but they need a bunch of paint work. Rust starting.

I agree. Looks like someone robbed a meter out of something else and stuck in it.

That may be. But, the travel control linkages, and steering gear, etc. show a lot of wear. But, not more than I expected, with the images posted on CL. And, not really a problem, just opportunity, to stay busy, ...and spend some more money.

I understand it's wore out, but 4000 hours is not likely at all. Not unless it's on motor 3 or 4..... or 5. Bare min 3. The twins average life is around 1200-1800 hours.

Seat was too tall, so returned it , and got this one. Much better.

And pulled fender to address the trunion.

Decided to do the quick fix, stop the speed surging, on both the 782 and 169. Feels like a gear drive, now. Constant speed with changing load. Just need to learn to "feather the speed control, much the same as a clutch. Not elegant, but it is mine and I like it.

Today, I replaced the failing tie-rod ends. Two failed, so I replaced all four. Tightened the axle pivot bolt nut to remove excess "slack", and adjusted the toe-in, and left-right turning radius equality. Drives much better.

Note: I really like the twin engine, for the light work, around the place.
