And what are the applications for using the draft plate? Or should I ask what are the pros and cons or necessities for using the draft plate?

Are you talking about the rear plate that has the IH sticker on it? You can leave that on

Yes. I see there is a cut out in that plate that I thought would accommodate the lift pin's movement. But will have to take it off to put all the parts in? I was going to go take another look, but it is way too cold and windy.

Yes, the plate has to come off. It's 5/16-18NC bolts and requires a 1/2" wrench /socket. You'll probably have to remove one wheel too ( 7/16-20NF and uses a 5/8" socket )

Is the lift bar attachment already installed? ( the picture from underneath with the two 5/16-18NC bolts with arrows ). I had manual lift on my former 122 and it was a real :censored: to install that plate. By contrast, the plate on the 125 just slide right in from the back :bigthink:

No, none of the lift parts are on the 122. I'd start to look at it, but it's quite frigid out there. If I could fit it in my basement/work shop, I would. Can't wait to get into it. Take a wheel off? Why?

The 1/2" pin that the casting pivots on.

See the larger holes in the fenders? That where the pin goes thru to go in the casting.

Yes, I see that now. Can't wait to get started.

No Alvy. I'm referring to the plate that goes on the sleeve hitch before you attach an implement. It keeps the implement from drifting side to side when you tighten up the bolts.

As far as the tin plate is concerned, is it the same one that is mounted on a 125? If so, then it can be re installed and will work, as on Dad's 125 he has a rear lift and it works with the tin plate with the IH decal.

Yes, the tin will be able to be reinstalled and will clear. The tin mounting is identical between the 122 and the 125. The only difference is the mounting holes for the optional rear light.
