those kohler commands are supposed to have a low oil sentry shutdown. So you never saw any oily ground/grass/anything? What model 2500 is it, and what year? Generally those Kohlers are pretty stout engines.

What model year? Under warranty?

I'm with the knowledgeable Mr. Bailey, the Oil Sentry should have shut it down before damage.
