Take the belt off. The one on the left side (standing in front, facing the machine) should be spring loaded and fairly stiff to push toward the rear with the handle, but should spring back all the way to the front if it's not locked in the groove on the handle. The one on the right, should be free to move. Take the "J" bolt off of it, and you should be able to move it forward and back easily.

Agreed. If the belt is in good shape, than it is probably a tension thing with the mule drive. TB

Thanks for all of your input. Great idea on the mule drive side of it. Since it seems as though the mower deck all seems to be working OK i guess the next logical thing to do would be check the mule Drive. I will try to get out there this week and see what is going on with it and let you know.

Luckily it has been 90+ degrees for the last week and the grass has not been growing much.
