Look on eBay for sealed bearings. I did that on my Kubota deck that would wear bushings out every 2 years mowing 5-6 acres a week. The Kubota deck is twice as heavy as the Haban and I've not touched it in 7 years. I'll see if I can find what I picked up. The Kubota, Haban and 3000 series wheels are the same.

I believe the problem with using bearings might be that there is a grease fitting in each wheel that sticks in to the bore and the bushings have recesses made into them to go around the fitting so that the wheel can accept grease.

I think you are right about the bearings I got being cheap and won't hold up to the abuse, this one only cuts about 2 acres a week but all year round.

I might go you're route or SAMs route Todd if Lew doesn't have the bushings. These lasted over 1000 hours of use and although the ID is wallered a little they're not bad, the steel bearing sleeve is what really bit the dirt.

Confused why they did over size bushings and a sleeve and not just 1/2 inch ID bearings that ride directly on the bolt but the bolt might put preload on the bushings flange when it gets tightened too. Thanks for all the replies

I have 6 of those wheel barrow style bearings if you want them, $10.00 shipped. Check and see if the grease fitting will clear the bearing, it may be in the hub deep enough to work.

Just had an idea, take the old bearings and have them bored to 1" then use 1" OD X 1/2" ID tube for the spacer/ bushing.

Well Uncle Lew to the rescue. He had OE bushings and sleeves. I still am in awe of the amount of things he has in his stash. I'm sure he won't mind me saying, price was right on too. Thank you guys for all the advice and brainstorming, I've done a lot of it today as well. Will post back with results when the mailman arrives.

Those are cool Todd and good price. Looks like they're sealed.i actually make it a practice to remove the seals and pack sealed bearings with a special grease we have at work called S350. It's great stuff.

That's a good idea too Sam. I also thought about JEff as well but need the stuff ASAP as the grass in the sunshine state grows at an alarming rate this time of year. Learned a lot from this thread thanks guys.
