yea lol I follow some of them on FB ROFL

Just the results of how society has degenerated. Most of the younger generation demand instant gratification, there world revolves around not so smart phones. They have never been taught how to do things with there own hands. We see more and more questions now about problems with the big box store lawn mowers because they don't take the time to learn about the product before buying, it looks cool and has some gimmicky electronic crap so it must be just what I need. Me, I have no interest in any Cubs newer than 1996. Rant over, it's 5:00 somewhere.

I agree with Sam on the younger generation. I'm sure there are plenty youngsters that want to work but the number is getting smaller.
As far as people asking questions here, I'm going to stay out of that cause I got all wound up about that awhile back and don't need to do that again. |

You're right. No one is forcing anyone to be here. But here's the thing: Keith is the kind of member who 1.) Contributes to the forum. 2.) Works with another member doing amazing custom builds and "refreshes" his tractors. 3.) Doesn't ask questions that can be answered by reading a manual. And last, but not least, answers people's questions! .... Hell, he's the very kind of member EVERYONE enjoys! Why would you suggest he just go away? I don't care if you agree or disagree, but we don't have enough members like Kieth. And Frankly, it's no wonder guys like him get frustrated and move on. I'm not suggesting there is any type of "solution" because there really isn't outside of trying to keep members such as Kieth who may possibly attract people who do contribute. It's not about him, or me, or you..... but the guys that join and ask questions, but don't ever stop in and help others.... well, if guys like Kieth leave, who is going to answer the questions?? No one. Then the forum dies. So, I think your suggestion to just leave is well..... just plain thoughtless. |

My point is I love to help others and expecially the younger generation with this wonderful hobby. Now i expect from them just what Sam & J did for me FORCE ME TO LEARN. All i can say is im glad they were blunt, we dont do it to be A%# Holes we do it to help others learn think of it as the our alternative to participation trophies. We learn from our mistakes and yes asking questions, just not the ones that have already been answered. |

I thought this Site was about sharing information and helping each other. Since when has any question became a burden for anyone to answer.
|
I think you are missing the point.

Sadly the younger generation can't seem to function beyond asking "Siri" a question.
i.e. doing any research or requires time and reading ability of what is/was printed onto wood fibers. |
