Glad to see you finally got out to the track! And 129 MPH should go deep into the 10s. And if you let off the car has more MPH than that. With the latest combo my car goes 10.3x @ 127-128. And depending on who sanctions the track its 11.50 or faster on a hard top car and you have to have a roll bar. 9.99 or faster which your car has more than enough power to run that is a 10 point cage, window net, NHRA competition license, physicals, ETC.

Here is a quick shot of my money pit at Mason Dixon 2 weeks ago:

It's funny I do not remember seeing any smoke at the time.

The WRX is an awesome track car. Get your son into a drivers ed course at a place like Pocono, Summit point or Watkins Glen. These are just a couple of many groups that you can check out. http://www.emraracing.org/ https://www.bmwcca.org/ you don't need a BMW to join the BMWCCA, outstanding club. I used to instruct for BMW and I raced with EMRA.

Depending which side of the state you are on Nelson Ledges in Youngstown Oh is a nice lil track for some road coarse classes as well. Very reasonable classes too. they have been putting alot of updates into it the last couple of years, definitely worth a look if your in the western half of the state.
