Not voting. Keep both.
|
If it were me, I would keep both, but if you must get rid of one, I would keep the 2284 because it looks different than the others, but it does make sense to keep the 2072 because it uses the same parts as the others. It's up to you to decide, they are your tractors.

Tough call Clay. Both are great machines. As you know, one has all metal panels but it is hard to beat the ergonomics of a Cyclops machine.
If your wife is wanting you to sell them I would try and make her happy and sell both. I would list each one for around $5,000.00 and then when you don't get any hits just tell her you tried but maybe they will sell in the fall.:biggrin2: |

Keeping the 2072:
+Can share many implements your already own. +Can share many spare parts with your other 72 series. +All metal front end +Auxiliary hydraulic -Many spare parts for the M20 engine are no longer available. -Use rag joint instead of universal joint drive system -Gas "Hug" -The 2072 may need a engine swap in few years. Keeping the 2284: +More modern and powerful OHV engine. +Universal joint drive system +Adjustable steering +Cost almost half in gas to operate compare to a M20 -All plastic whippy front end -No auxiliary hydraulic. -The 2284 need auxiliary hydraulic to really exploited his full potential If it was my decision to make, I keep both and sell one of your 1811. |

You got that right right, now go tell your wife that before you go to bed tonite. |
Okay with the votes in it looks like the 2072. Here is what's up with the poll. I was truly on the fence for wanting either SGT. The 2284 I do own picked it up for a deal. My BIL has a 1440 and pictured 2072. I can traded the 2284 for the 2072. Thanks folks for the input.

Well we made the trade this evening. I can now say I use to own a 2284 and now a owner of a 2072 with a CH20 repower.
