Sergeant, you’re right. I think need to find a donor or non running machine. I found a non-running 124 lawn mower tractor on CL for $200, and a non running 1811 lawn mower tractor for $400. I’d like to stay with a NF Cub since that’s what I have now, and I’ve gotten comfortable with the design. I only have one tractor, my 125 at the moment.

I think I would consider a Later series with a Much Larger deck than a Narrow Frame if Mowing 3 acres. I did Mow 2.5 acre In the Past with a 106 and a 42-inch deck a few times, But didn't make a weekly habit off it. Usually it was just the fall during leaf clean up as I had a 5HP Peco Bagger for the 106 from 2003 till 2010 That was My Primary Bagger system for the fall leaf clean Up Until I Bought a Power flow Bagger for My Previous JD X485 in 2010 :ThumbsUp:

They're well made machines, just change the oil and grease them (as you should anything).

Cub Cadets? Yes, 982 went beyond that to 60". Technically 50" was the biggest of the IH CC Garden Tractors. CCC had a GT54 for later models.

Yes there was an IH 982 But the Biggest Deck IH made for it was a 50. The 60 inch decks Came Later under MTD but made By Haban:ThumbsUp:
