Nice looking 800. The slot you refer to is where the optional creeper gear would go. Again, nice find.

Very nice,I see your seat has the option for armrest!!
Nothing like armrest.
I saw a 800 at an auction last year and the only added option were head and tail lights,real crappy looking though,sold for $700.00

I was wondering what the bolts holes were for, makes since now that you mention it.

Like jfinney said, the slot is for the creeper lever.

Normally, the 800, 100, 1200, (and the model 1250 hydro) tractors were not 'loaded' with options.

Things like creepers, lights, electric lifts, arm rests, and spring assists could be added to the tractors by the IH dealers, if the original buyer so desired.
I noticed that was missing also, or that it looked like something was missing. There is a local man with a push blade for $100 that may turn out to be my first attachment, other than the mowing deck it came with.

I have only seen small text messaged pictures but he says he has a wide one and a narrow one.

Anyone know of a good repair manual for the 8hp engine? I have looked at some IPLs and believe I have I good idea of how to take it down, just wanted a manual for backup.

the kohler service manual is availiable for free on their website in pdf. you can print it as well
