They're IH built? Oh, I thought they were MTD... Which red ones were made by MTD?

The 1282 is mtd built but they were buuilt for IH to sell at their dealerships which is why they are red and have an IH emblem.

1282s were only made by CCC for IH. They are all red, and would all have had the IH logo. They would not have had IH logo steering wheel caps or have had dashes that said INTERNATIONAL above cub cadet, but that is true of (almost) all red cub cadets built from late 81-85.

Agreed. It was builtduring the time they used them, and all the old pictures show they had them, as do a lot of the good survivors.

Oddball with a yellow dash tower, just like a yellow '82 series. Black dash tower came with the next series tractors.
Should have had a K series in it, just like the 1282. The first CCC tractors with the Mag K was the 1050 and the later 1210/11 tractors.

Jon my 1204 had the Mag K in it and it was dated 1987. The 1050 was 1989. :bigthink:

The 1204 was built in 1987 and 88. Same as the 1210/11 it started out with a K301AQS and went to a Mag12. No info given for when the switch occurred. Might have been in 87 they made the switch, as the 1210 tractor starter production in 85 with the K and later went to the M. What you had is legit, and fits the profile. :beerchug:

I'd stick the emblem up there. Be IH proud :-)
