Good looking tractors guys:beerchug:
Hey Todd, a few hangers never hurt, Earl Scheib even get's them once and awhile:biggrin2:

sbauerz28 06-23-2014 07:00 AM

Hooked up an old JD plow I had around to the front of the 1572. Used a spare snowblower lift I had. Works great.

While testing the plow I did manage to locate the ditch.

Hope you and the cub are ok, Steve.

Most of us find ourselves in a ditch at one time or another. Looks like there is a puller outer in the background though.

BTDT way to many times. Nice mod on the JD plow. One suggestion, run some push bars to the rear of the tractor so you don't bend the frame.

I plan on doing this. I need to fab up the bracket that mounts to the frame and pick up some LH and RH rod ends this weekend. I have some DOM tubing left over from another project so I'm going to use that and the rod ends to make the bars adjustable.

ACecil 06-27-2014 01:05 PM

Swept some more tree bark yesterday evening with the 782.

Wait they made an 1872 without power steering?

ACecil 06-27-2014 10:49 PM

It had power steering originally, but I wanted the manual steering. I really don't miss the power steering.

Allen, I think Sears needs to use you in a commercial for their lawn sweepers. Because if you aren't wearing them out, no one will.:beerchug:

ACecil 06-29-2014 10:57 AM

That's true, Todd...lol! It's been a great sweeper, I've had it for nine years. It still does a great job.

Got an 1811 out to pull an old trailed out. FINALLY, I'm going to tear it down and take it to the scrap yard so I can regain some space and clean up that side of the garage.

After cleaning the out fuel system, new grommets and new fuel lines mowed, then trimmed up some low tree limbs. Have been bit by the cub bug. Love the 1641.

Cubs are looking good on the job guys:beerchug:

jimbob200521 07-04-2014 12:24 AM

Seems like the threads been slow lately, so I'll liven it up!! I got to use an 1811 today to pick up debris from the last batch of storms we've had (no pics of that) then got the 1863 out and did the neighborhood mowing :biggrin2: took several hours, but I cut the forest that has been growing down to size. Afterwords, I got an 1811 back out and hooked it up to the new trailer I got. Took it out and filled it with grass clippings for the garden. Afterwords, my cousin came by and relaxed with a couple cool ones and watched the fire works from my back yard. A very good day all together :beerchug:

*Not the best pics, but they are excellent runners and workers for sure!!!*

Ryan,
Looks like you're keeping busy. The cubs are getting the job done. Thanks for sharing the pics. :beerchug:

jimbob200521 07-04-2014 11:35 AM

Thanks guys! The Cub's haven't let me down yet!!

jimbob200521 07-04-2014 03:05 PM

Been a busy couple days off, I figure why not share a couple more!!

Since I got my 1863, I've removed the engine and cleaned up the block, frame, mounting plate, under shrouds, piston/valve tins, etc. But I haven't done anything with the air cleaner or the eye-soar of a muffle shroud. It finally got its turn on my to-do list today. Removed, wire-wheeled down to bare metal, cleaned it up, and put on a couple coats of flat black hi-temp paint. This should hold up for a while!

Before, during, and after. Much, MUCH better.

Still feeling out my new to me 2182 and getting to know her flaws as well as good points.
I epoxied two broken center hood mounting tabs, adjusted the brakes, deck wheels and carb. Cleaned and pressure washed the deck and all the parts under the center cover. Looked like a big black blob before.

Cleaned out the radiator screen( was about half clogged) aired all the tires to 12 lb. Adjusted hood and did some more test mowing. I can't believe I'm wanting the grass to get big

Cool pics, guys!

Put the 2182 to work mowing brush under my pine tree grove. Sorry no pics.

Diesel Krazy 07-06-2014 04:55 PM

I did more long over due maintenance on my 882 Diesel this weekend. Today I turned my exhaust up like a stack to see if I would like it. I took a test drive to try it out to find out if it would be too loud or too stinky for my taste. It would definatly look better if it had a nice big chrome stack on it.

So far my Cub is just a Snow plow machine. I still start it every 2 weeks. 3rd time in a row now that I fire it up and watch the Mouse Nesting particles flow from the muffler and between the fins and the tin. I never had Mouse issues this bad on anything I have here. After the first time ( 6 weeks ago) I put a chunk of Mouse killer by the Front Clutch. That was eaten but they still persist.
I wonder if my Little Tractor Cover is making it more inviting than if I left the cover off.

Gave the 60" Haban a fresh coat of paint. After finding the correct paint code and paint at $45@ qrt I went to lowes and found the Rust-oleum Almond was darn near a perfect match. A good $5.50 investment. It's kind of between the 901&902 code

That 60" Haban looks great. I wish one would fit on my 882. Thanks everyone for the kind words. If I decide to stay with the stack I will be ordering one of these chrome stacks to put on the muffler.
