Today, I moved the mower decks down to the barn for winter. Also cleaned up in front of the shed with the Super and cleaned up some sticks and whatnot and killed it with fire and adult beverages! :beer2: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-T...204_165311.jpg https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-q...204_165415.jpg |
Nice work Shrewcub

Finished putting a hydro fan on the 149 and decided to change the oil, then when filling the oil I hear something running on the ground, take a look and the aluminum oil pan has cracked around the drain plug:bash2::bash2: So my oil change went from 10 minutes to 6 hours pulling the engine and swapping a cast iron oil pan, decided to pull the grenade gears while I was in there, they were pretty loose. It did make greasing the steering box easy though.:biggrin2:
|
Ran out this morning , between the rain drops to get the Rebuilt Hydro Release valves back in. Buzzed Tug around the yard all all RPMs and speeds, reverse too.. Valves are all nice and dry. While some Covers were off I greased and oiled some of the linkage.
Thanks MACHTECH |
Hydrostatic oil & filter change on the FIL's 2182 SGT today as well as my 2155. Even with the workshop heated up by the coal stoker and the oil warm it takes quite a while to ease all those quarts of oil into that skinny little fill hole on both tractors.
I don't think I'll be doing anything that requires patience the rest of the day! I was hoping to change the engine oil & filters as well but ran out of time so I'll probably mess with that tonight since I left the stoker running. |
Got wood with the FEL again, sure makes things easy:biggrin2:

Used the FEL again today, time to dig up the septic tank covers! It did better than I expected, the dirt was pretty hard with a lot of rocks, didn't even spin much.:beerchug:

Nice FEL. We had the 2182 out today to help with splitting firewood.

Split the 129 to replace a bad cork gasket and replaced the trunnion springs and pins. I pulled the top cover plate off and replaced the gasket since it was seeping around one corner. Refilling the rearend is much quicker with the top cover off. Got the rearend back in. I'll get the fenders and seat back on tomorrow.

Good looking 129  |
I hate potholes!!
The 129 looks great, Adam!!!:beerchug:
I got the 782 out to fill a few holes in the driveway and cover some muddy spots. I also wanted to see how the ags did on the front. I really like them!!:biggrin2: Thanks sawdustdad for your opinion! :beerchug: https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-K...101_142802.jpg https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-D...101_142750.jpg https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-v...101_142907.jpg |
Thanks guys!
I got the 129 back together and fingers crossed, no more leaks. Now, I need to figure out why it doesn't seem to be charging. I recently rebuilt the S/G so I'll test it first and if it checks out I'll replace the voltage regulator. All of the wiring is new and grounds checked good. The ammeter needle bounces around like crazy so I wired around the gauge to eliminate it as the culprit. I pulled the cover off the V/R and the contacts don't move while it's running. Not sure if that's because the regulator is bad or the S/G is not working. Travis, the 782 looks good with the blade and box scraper on. Do they both raise and lower together or is the rear lift somehow independent? |

remember to get some pics tomorrow when I try out the 54" Xtreme blade on the back, because we all know :TTWWP: :beerchug: |

I just tried out the Xtreme 54" sleeve hitch blade. It did a good job leveling out the wider holes on the driveway. It would have done better if the ground was drier, but I don't think that will happen until next summer the way things are looking.
I got the drawbar weight box free with the 122 I bought. He also gave me a homemade lead weight that fits inside. I just took the bathroom scale out and it weighs in at 104 lbs. I think that would be a bit much for the blade, hence the old bar weights I have in it. If there was more gravel on the driveway, I don't think any extra weight would be necessary. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-T...102_142152.jpg https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-h...102_141833.jpg https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-s...102_141806.jpg |
Pushing a bit of snow for the first time this year. Its quite obvious I need to get some more weight on the back of this rig...good thing the snow was really light and powdery.

That's an awesome setup you got there Travis! Especially the cutout for raising your hood...that's one of the tough parts with my cab. Please post some more pics, that rig seriously looks great! |

Had to get out of the house for a little bit.
The snow hasn't melted so I wanted to try out the 102. I know it isn't a lot of snow, but these old tractors always impress me whenever I use them. The tri-ribs really turn well too. :beerchug:

Cool pictures of the 102 Shrewcub

I finally got an alternator for the 1572 yesterday. Going to get it in tomorrow. The only bad part is I need to remove the front of the cab so I can get the side panels off.
This should complete the upgrades to the engine. I already did the glow plug and starter upgrade. http://i1094.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5rivzse6.jpg |
Let us know how it works sbauerz28

I got the alternator mounted last night. It wasn't as bad as I was thinking it would be. Had to built a spacer and run a new 10ga charge wire.
I hope this works. Videos are kind of a new thing to me. You can hear how well this charges now. http://youtu.be/KQtBjdMlq7Y http://i1094.photobucket.com/albums/...psqufgqilc.jpg http://i1094.photobucket.com/albums/...psqcd15wlm.jpg |
Nice work sbauerz28
You can definitely tell its charging now  |
