Putting the new hitch and plow to work. (hitch, Customized Cubs). Plow, rake out, pick up, wash, spread out on the grass, to dry. Much easier than last year, with a shovel. One row done. Two more to go.

Finally got a start on the wood for the winter. I like to do this in the spring but seem to get started later every year

While replacing a leaking head gasket on my 129, I managed to drop a nut into the flywheel shroud. Of course the only way to get it out is to pull the engine. While the engine is out, I decided to replace the leaking front crank seal.

I finally cleaned up and organized my outdoor parts area, when I got done with that I worked on a belt problem I've been having with my sons Cadet 111.

You Guy's have been busy.
Great pictures

Made some end plates for the snow plow. they slide on and off easily with the removal of some "R" clips. There are times I wanted the plow to act like a 'Pusher'. Not painted yet so it looks very bad. After a trial run this winter I will make whatever Mods I find it needs, then make it pretty.

Haven't posted here in a while...

Yesterday I got all the runners out for some fun. Mowed some grass with the 1864, graded the driveway with the 782, and hauled some stuff with the 2372 and 102.

The 102 has a K301 in it and is going to get a better one with a new clutch and 122 hood and grill. Hydro lift will go on then too. I had the grill out for pto repair and just didn't want to waste the time putting it back in to come right back out. I am going to put all the best NF parts I have in this one. So in the end I will have a 122 with a 102 seat. :beerchug:

Got a few other projects going on too! I will get to it, I promise!

There's 71 years of age between them, but both do a fine job of mowing! As for me, I just turn the wrenches when needed:biggrin2:

The Tru-Powers are now on the 1782

I have not been working on the Cubs much lately as I had rotator cuff surgery in May, but I finally got the new 26X12X12 Tru-Powers mounted and loaded with windshield washer antifreeze. The engine had been acting like it was low on power and missing. Took the side cover off and put a wrench on the fitting to bleed the injectors and found the lower fitting which goes into the pump was loose. Insant fix! I was very relieved. I had forgotten how powerful the engine felt when running on all 3 cylinders.I went through the 54 inch mower deck last summer and replaced all the bearings. I had a couple of instances where the deck belt came off. I pulled the deck again last week and found the arm that the idler pulley is attached to had a slight bend in it so I straightened that and it seems to work fine now. It is a nice feeling to get some things done again.

Sooooo when are you going to come do my yard!?! :biggrin2: :beerchug:

bruce s 09-08-2015 10:27 PM

Jimbob I'm not sure I will be able to fit you in this fall , the fall seeding window is shutting fast and I am swamped . I am on the way to an over 100 job season , I haven't started fall plowing yet. I usually plow 25 to 30 gardens in the fall. I can pencil you in on the early spring seeding list if you want .:beerchug:

Rehabing the 2284. Many hours and dollars on the deck. Slipped it under the tractor tonight, wrestled the belt on, and then trimmed some weeds out of the lawn. Worked well. Next the throttle linkage needs serious attention.

Sam Mac 09-11-2015 09:59 AM

Looks good from here!:beerchug:

Put on the rear mounted (Rear facing), blade and spread some old manure on the garden. Then pushed back some gravel, that had washed down the drive.

Then, put it out front, for sale. (Moving, and have too many)

Mowed some grass with the 1641. Tough job but someone needs to do it. Finally got around to painting the rear wheels Cub White, they were originally JD wheels. Tires needed tubes so it was a good time to get it done. Gotta paint the deck one of these years. :beerchug:

Got some of the kids winterized and tucked away for their winter hibernation.

Sam Mac 10-03-2015 07:44 PM

Looks good my friend. Sucks that we have to put them away for winter. I need to get my "Kids ready for winter" also. Maybe 1 or 2 more times with mower and then the party is over. Then it's set up the BX for snow duty. I hate snow. :beatdeadhorse:

darkminion_17 10-03-2015 08:08 PM

Diz,

Looks like you got that leak taken care of.
